Music City Minute: Kenny Chesney, Miranda Lambert, Thomas Rhett, Jake Owen, Shania Twain

Kenny Chesney fans time to get excited! Yesterday Kenny announced his new album will be called Songs for the Saints and we can get it July 27. Kenny says the album will be reflective of a lot of the things he's been through since the release of his last record in 2016, with much of its inspiration coming from Hurricane Irma and the destruction it caused throughout the Caribbean islands last year, including damage to his own home on the U.S. Virgin Island of St. John. Kenny says the album is about the troubles people have in their lives and the courage and resilience they show in the wake of adversity.

Yesterday we told you about the drama going on between Miranda Lambert and her new boyfriend and Turnpike Troubadors singer Evan Felker. Evan’s ex-wife has been posting on social media and some are saying it’s making Miranda look like a homewrecker. Well now the gossip that’s going around is that Miranda’s boyfriend Evan "full-on ghosted" his wife when the “Livin' Like Hippies” Tour ended, they were an opening act on the tour.

A source said he skipped his flight back home to Oklahoma, and sent an email to his wife saying, "I'm not coming home this week." Then the ghosting started. The source is also saying there was no idea that he was planning to divorce his wife before he met Miranda.

Thomas Rhett learned the hard way that even artists who are a part of the tour need to have a backstage pass. One night he went into the crowd to watch the opening act. Well, while he was roaming around they changed security guards.

When he returned the guards didn't know who he was and needed to see his pass. He said, "I'm trying to point at the poster in the hallway like, 'hey, that's like my face and I have to get back there because I'm about to start.'

"And I literally didn't get back there until like one minute before my show went on. So it really taught me to keep up with a laminate and the pass."

Shania Twain and Jake Owen are co-hosting a singing competition called "Real Country". It'll tape this summer in Nashville and debut in the fall on the USA Network. Shania and Jake will hand-select artists to perform in showcases… and the best ones from each showcase will perform in a grand finale.
