ALGOOD, Tenn. — Police say they are investigating a death after a body was found decomposed at an apartment complex in Algood, Tennessee.
In a news release, the Algood Police Department said on Thursday that they were called to an apartment complex for a death. When officers arrived, they found a body in a “severe state of decomposition.”
The body was taken to the Forensic Medical Center in Nashville for an autopsy and identification, according to WKRN.
Investigators say the identification has not yet been released due to the condition of the body.
There were no signs of a struggle; however, the cause of death is under investigation, police say.
Police have asked the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation for assistance in the investigation, WKRN reported.
