LEON COUNTY, Fla. — When sheriff’s deputies from the Leon County Sheriff’s Office responded to a distress call at a woman’s home in Leon County, Florida, they realized that the woman was really in need.
Her wheelchair ramp was unusable and she was not able to leave her home, WCTV reported.
Instead of just walking away, the deputies took it upon themselves to go beyond the line of duty and give the woman the help she really needed.

On their off time, the deputies dismantled her old ramp and then built her a new one.
The project was led by Deputy Mark McGowan and the entire Bravo Alpha shift chipped in to make quick work of the ramp, sheriff’s department officials said in a Facebook post.
The materials were donated by Ability1st, a United Way Agency, and even the pickup of supplies was done by the Leon County Public Works Department.
The woman said she “never would have expected this.”
