SAWS Opens Bulk Water Distribution Sites

SAWS Bulk Water Distribution Sites

Beginning Friday, San Antonio Water System is opening seven water distribution locations across the city at its pump stations to provide customers with water. Additional sites may be added depending on demand.

Residents will need to bring their own clean containers such as jugs to fill with water. There will be no bottled water distributed at these locations.

Customers will be allowed five gallons of water per person. As a precaution, the water should be boiled before drinking or used in cooking, mirroring the current boil water notice advisory for the city.

Friday’s hours will be 12 to 6 p.m. After that, the SAWS distribution sites’ operating hours will be 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. every day to assist customers still experiencing a loss of water service. The sites will be open until the water system is back to normal operating conditions.

Customers are asked to adhere to all COVID-19 precautions such as wearing a mask and maintaining at least six feet of physical distance.

Customers should expect that long wait lines are possible.

To further assist customers, the City of San Antonio will also be setting up separate bottled water distribution sites throughout the city, as well as the San Antonio Food Bank.  More information on that program is coming soon.
