San Antonio, TX — Bexar County Judge Antonia Arteaga granted a temporary injunction Monday, against Governor Abbott’s executive order prohibiting mask mandate from local governments and schools.
San Antonio schools are in a tough position, trying to decide whether to follow local orders or the Texas Supreme Court, which sided with the Governor on Sunday, blocking mask mandates like the one issued in San Antonio last week.

- Alamo Heights ISD - wearing of face masks is optional.
- Boerne ISD - wearing of face masks is optional. Masks will be available if a student requests one.
- Fort Sam Houston and Lackland ISDs - doing legal reviews, but will continue to require masks in the meantime.
- Medina Valley ISD - encourages mask wearing, but it is not required.
- North East ISD - announced on Facebook it will not mandate face coverings on campus.
- Northside ISD - issued a temporary mash mandate for all students, staff, and visitors.
- Harlandale ISD - requiring face coverings for its campuses.
- San Antonio ISD - is requiring face masks for students and staff, and all staff will be required to be vaccinated.
- South San Antonio ISD - requiring masks on all campuses.
- Southside ISD - requiring masks on all campuses.
