2022 Cowboy Breakfast Will Be Private for First Responders Only

Cowboy Breakfast San Antonio

The Cowboy Breakfast, a yearly tradition in San Antonio, has decided to be private-only this year, in response to the rise in COVID-19 cases recently.

Normally, 40,000+ people line up early in the morning for a free cowboy breakfast, but this year, the team will be making breakfast privately only for first responders.

“In keeping with the spirit of the event, we will be preparing tacos for our first responders,”

—  Susan Cochran, Cowboy Breakfast Board Member

January 28th, the tacos will be served to first responders privately for the 44th anniversary. The Cowboy Breakfast is expected to return to the public in 2023.

The last full Cowboy Breakfast was in 2020, just a few weeks before the lockdowns began, and the 2021 version pivoted to a delivery model, dropping off free meals to organizations that helped San Antonio throughout the pandemic.

More information on this year’s private event will be coming later this week.
