The CMA nominations came out yesterday and Miranda Lambert leads the pack with SEVEN. She now has a total of 55 CMA nominations in her career… and that’s a record for a female. Reba McEntire has 51.
Miranda is up for Entertainer of the Year, and that’s big news too, because so is Carrie Underwood. It’s been 41 years since two SOLO female acts were up for that award.
Thank you from the bottom of my honky tonk heart for all of the years of support and acceptance. I love being part of the country music family. Songs and shows are what make my world go round. #countrymusic #entertainer 😱🤠💗 pic.twitter.com/IEjYclEjYm

Eric Church, Luke Combs, and Keith Urban are also up for Entertainer of the Year. Keith is the only one of the five nominees to ever win it. He’s done it twice. You may remember last year’s winner, Garth Brooks, permanently removed himself from consideration.
Following Miranda’s lead is Luke Combs who has six nominations. Maren Morris has five and Carly Pearce and Dan + Shay have four each.
Maren Morris shared her excitement on Twitter:
In the year that paused for many of us, we turned to country music. Thank you to my peers for these nominations. To @hozier for amplifying this song even higher with your otherworldly talent & to @mirandalambert for having me on this stellar lineup. WOMEN CLEANED UP THIS YEAR!🧹 pic.twitter.com/UPn4CpYMUJ

After being nominated for four Carly Pearce tweeted her emotional response:
YALL. I am ugly crying. These are the moments I’ve dreamt about since I was a little girl. Thank you @CountryMusic — I am humbled & I am honored. 🥺♥️🙏🏻 #cmaawards pic.twitter.com/wPWDV8vamm

Who got snubbed? Luke Bryan, Jason Aldean, Kenny Chesney, Dustin Lynch, Justin Moore, Kane Brown and Kelsea Ballerini who’s looking on the bright side.
Here’s what she said on Twitter:
last time this happened, I wrote homecoming queen the next day about the feeling. something beautiful will undoubtedly come from the current disappointment. nonetheless, congratulations to my friends & peers that got nominations. proud to be a part of the country family, always.
