The San Antonio Spurs will be unveiling new jerseys this Friday as part of the National Basketball Association’s partnership with Nike. Adidas signed an 11-year deal with the NBA back in 2006, taking over for Reebok. Many fans are hoping the Spurs will go back to the classic fiesta theme of the 90’s or simply the silver & black home jerseys of the George Gervin days. While all we can do is wait, the folks over at the Spurs are keeping our appetites at bay with a series of videos on social media recapping the jersey history of the Spurs. Longtime fans will recognize the nostalgic shots of the Iceman hitting a finger roll and Mike Mitchell knocking down buckets in the now defunct Hemisfair Arena.
Fans went into a frenzy with theories as to which uniform would be revealed Friday. The Spurs then released a second "uniform evolution” video featuring shots of the Admiral and the Big Fundamental, Tim Duncan:
