Music City Minute: Luke Combs, Kelsea Ballerini, Taylor Swift, Jake Owen, Kid Rock

Sad news about Luke Combs! He lost his voice while performing at CMA Fest on Friday… so he's been put on vocal rest. He canceled his shows over the weekend, plus his concerts this Thursday in Grand Junction, Colorado and Friday in Comstock, Nebraska.

He hit up Instagram with the news and said, "I saw my doctors and we've got a plan of vocal rest and treatments [so] I can be back with y'all as quickly as possible. It kills me to [have to] do this. Y'all are the reason I get on stage every night."

These days it seems like Taylor Swift gets on the country charts by giving her songs to other artists. The two recent ones being Little Big Town’s “Better Man” and Sugarland’s “Babe”.

Kelsea Ballerini and Taylor Swift are actually close friends, but Kelsea says she wouldn’t record a Taylor song.

Kelsea said, "I think I'll always cut my own stuff. It's part of who I am as an artist. As much as I think she's incredible. I would love to write WITH her, though."

Most people ARE good and Jake Owen learned that over the weekend. A fan named Todd posted some very nice things about him and he greatly appreciated it. Jake hit up Instagram with a heartfelt response:

Kid Rock is joining the list of musicians with bars in downtown Nashville, he's actually partnering with Tootsie's honky-tonk to open a four-story entertainment venue and steakhouse on Lower Broadway. The venue will reportedly have a bar and stage on every floor as well as a rooftop deck. The name for the roughly $20 million bar and restaurant has yet to be announced, but the report says that the owners hope to open it in about one month.
So far, Blake Shelton, Florida Georgia Line, Dierks Bentley, Jason Aldean, John Rich and Alan Jackson have opened bars in downtown Nashville. Here's a picture of his restaurant in Detroit:
