Music City Minute: Country Sororities/Fraternities, Kelsea Ballerini, Lady Antebellum

Now that's school back in session, The Boot has a list of country artists who pledged fraternities or sororities in college. I like it because it's cool to picture some of these huge stars going through a pinning ceremony. Here's the list:

Carrie Underwood pledged Sigma Sigma Sigma at Northeastern State University in Oklahoma. She loved it, and said it made college life more bearable.

Luke Bryan was a Sigma Chi at Georgia Southern University. It's where he met his wife, Caroline, while she was a member of the Alpha Delta Pi sorority.

Cole Swindell was also a Sigma Chi at Georgia Southern.

Tim McGraw was a Pi Kappa Alpha at Northeast Louisiana University, although it's now called University of Louisiana at Monroe. He once said, "I got into school, picked up a guitar, joined a fraternity, and started sucking down kegs.

Kenny Chesney pledge Lambda Chi Alpha at East Tennessee State. He referenced his frat in "Keg in the Closet", singing: "This ol' guitar taught me how to score/Right there on that Lambda Chi porch."

Dierks Bentley was a Sigma Alpha Epsilon at the University of Vermont.

Willie Nelson, yes Willie Nelson, was a Tau Kappa Epsilon at Baylor University.

Zac Brown was a brother in the Kappa Alpha Order at University of West Georgia.

Kelsea Ballerini may be releasing some EDM music. The Chainsmokers hit up Twitter yesterday and said, "Kelsea, you think they're ready?" She re-tweeted it and responded, "It's like you're READING MY MIND. I'm in." My guess is it's a song called "Reading My Mind".

One more thing about Kelsea. She posted clip of herself playing an acoustic guitar and singing Troye Sivan's song, "Seventeen".

Yesterday we told you about Cam switching record labels, well now we found out Lady Antebellum officially changed labels too. The award-winning trio announced a new deal they have signed with Big Machine Label Group in Nashville yesterday, confirming rumors that had been swirling around Music City.

“We have been truly blessed throughout our career to work with some of the brightest people in music,” Lady A singer Hillary Scott says in a press release. “We’ve watched BMLG become the powerhouse they are from the sidelines and couldn’t be more excited to become part of their family. We hope to honor all the people who have been part of our story over the last 10 years — can’t wait to work with some old friends again and are excited for where it takes us all together!"
