Dolly Parton’s family moved to Nashville in the early 1960’s. She and her Uncle both pursued music. He was a big influence on her- he gave her her first guitar, and co-wrote some of her songs.
Her uncle created a group called the Owens Brothers, and on some of their songs, you can hear a young Dolly doing backup vocals. Take a listen!
