Music City Minute: Kane Brown, Kip Moore, and more!

Mandi Castillo, The Voice

Kane Brown will be releasing a new song this Thursday called "Cool Again"! Kane said in a recent interview that the song’s meaning feels different now that we're all under quarantine. It was originally a breakup song where you remember that things used to be fine, and then they weren't. Now it feels like a quarantine song where you just want things to get back to normal.

“’Cool Again’ at first was a song that was about a break-up, it was about you just wanted to be with the girl or with the boy that you had last summer and everything was fine but now it’s not,” Kane says.

“But in today’s terms, it’s a whole new song for me because it’s like you just want everything to go back to how it was, other than this quarantine. Like the summer that you used to have, being able to hang out with your friends; the whole song has changed for me.”

Kip Moore is getting outdoors during quarantine, sharing what appears to be a series of performances he’s calling the “In The Wild Sessions”. Kip shared a video of him performing his new song “Southpaw” with just him, his acoustic guitar, and the great outdoors! Let us know what you think of his performance below!

San Antonio native and The Voice contestant, Mandi Castillo continues to impress! Castillo amazed judges with her latest performance in the Knockout Round, singing Ben E. King’s “Stand By Me”. Castillo brought all the soul to the stage as she went head-to-head against Thunderstorm Artis who sang “Preach” by coach, John Legend.

In the end, Mandi was able to beat Thunderstorm and John Legend named her the winner of the Knockout Round! Next week the show begins the “Road to Live Shows” which will likely be done remotely due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
