39th Annual Cowboy Breakfast Kicks Off Rodeo Season on January 27
More than 17,000 breakfast tacos will be served free to the public
WHAT: The Cowboy Breakfast is a local nonprofit 501C3 which has provided the San Antonio community with a free cowboy breakfast for the last 39 years. It is known as the "Kick off" for the San Antonio rodeo season, and the public is invited to attend again this year to enjoy a free, authentic western breakfast and live country music. Besides providing one of the most unique events in the area, the organization raises money for its scholarship fund to the St. Philip's College Culinary and Tourist Department. The 39th Annual Cowboy Breakfast is hosted by Jordan Ford.
WHEN: 4:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. Friday, January 27
WHERE: Cowboys Dance Hall Parking Lot, 3030 NE Loop 410 at IH-35, 78218
MORE: The Cowboy Breakfast, which was first held at the old Central Park Mall in 1979, serves up to 40,000 people. The event takes place outdoors with free food, live country music, western gun slingers, a mechanical bull and more – all for free. This event is only possible through the generous contributions of local companies and 200 plus volunteers. A scholarship presentation to St. Philip's College will be held around 7 a.m.
