Oskarson named her big find, “Esperanza Diamond.” Esperanza is the Spanish word for hope.

Oskarson told KSLA that she plans on keeping the diamond for now.

Park officials did not release an estimated value of the diamond.

According to the park’s website, Crater of Diamonds State Park is the only diamond-producing site in the world open to the public. Visitors can hunt for diamonds on the park’s 37 acres of land.
