In an Instagram post, the Walnut Creek Police Department said officers tried to stop a stolen car. The suspect is accused of reversing, hitting a patrol car, and then speeding toward a fence, apparently unaware the fence was around the top of a wall with a creek down below. Photos show the car’s front passenger side dangling off the wall.

Police told KTVU they fired bean bags into the car to prevent the driver from trying to continue through the fence, risking a fall into the water below.

The driver and a female passenger were arrested, and police said they found two replica Airsoft guns inside the car, that were not painted orange and “are not easily distinguishable as being toys.”
