A spokesperson for Amtrak told WFAA the crash happened at about 7 p.m. CDT. There were about 110 passengers and crew members on the train when the crash occurred, the television station reported.

The train left Fort Worth, Texas, earlier Friday afternoon and was headed to Norman, Oklahoma, according to KXAS.

In a statement, Amtrak officials said the crash occurred near Thackerville, Oklahoma, which is just north of the Texas border.

“Amtrak Train 822 struck a truck that was on the BNSF Railway tracks near Thackerville, Oklahoma., at approximately 7 p.m. CDT this evening,” the statement said. “There were approximately 110 passengers and crew members onboard, with four passengers transported to a local hospital with minor injuries. Local authorities are investigating.

“Train 822 operates daily between Fort Worth and Oklahoma City.”

Earlier, Oklahoma Highway Patrol spokesperson Eric Foster told KTVT that two people were taken to the hospital from the train, along with the driver of the truck.

The collision caused the train to partially come off the tracks, KXAS reported. The tractor-trailer was split in half, according to the television station.

The National Transportation Safety Board will investigate the incident.
