Shayla Wiggins was playing "Pokemon Go" Saturday when she ventured outside, toward the Wyoming Highway 789 Bridge and found a dead body in the river.
Wiggins told CNN Money she went to the river location because she was trying to get a water Pokemon.
The man's body was lying face down in the water.
Wiggins did not notice the body at first, although the Pokemon app does warn users to be aware of their real-life surroundings during gameplay.
“I didn’t know what to do,” Wiggins told KCWY Friday. “I was really scared, so I was just like, ‘I should just call 911.’ And then I called 911, and they told me to go wait up at the highway for a police officer.”
Fremont County Undersheriff Ryan Lee told KCWY that police believe the death was accidental and that he may have drowned. The man has not been publicly identified.
"I probably would have never went down there if it weren't for this game," Wiggins said. "But in a way, I'm thankful. I feel like I helped find his body. He could have been there for days."
Despite being shaken by the ordeal, Wiggins plans to continue playing the game.
"I might go get a water Pokemon. I’m going to try,” she said.
