Man looking for cellphone is struck, killed by roller coaster at Ohio theme park

- A man who entered a restricted area at Ohio's Cedar Point amusement park to look for a lost cellphone was struck and killed by a roller coaster, officials said Thursday.

The Erie County coroner said the victim, a man in his mid-40s, went into a fenced area Thursday evening and was hit by a ride called the Raptor.

Cedar Point's website says the Raptor travels at speeds up to 57 mph.

The victim’s identity was not immediately released.

The park in Sandusky confirmed the guest's death in a statement on its Twitter account and Facebook page.
