Ten invitations were sent for Mackenzie Moretter’s birthday but none of her classmates wanted to come.

No big deal, more than 400 others filled the gap.

Mackenzie suffers from Sotos Syndrome, a condition that damaged her brain and makes communication difficult.

"I have a hard time making friends at school,” she said.

Her mother Jenny told WCCO when no one responded to the invitations, she put a message on Facebook asking for help. The response was overwhelming.

“It’s truly inspiring to know somebody who cares for somebody they don’t know,” she said.

The event was star-studded. BuzzFeed reports Shapokee Mayor Brad Tabke was there and declared it Mackenzie Moretter Day.

Even former Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Charles Johnson showed up.

“I know how it feels to be at a low point,” he told KARE11. “I just wanted to come here and show her that people do have hearts.”

“It means a lot to me for all of you coming to spend time with me,” Mackenzie told the crowd.

The family says there were too many gifts. So they donated the rest to other children.
