A Georgia mother is being hailed as a hero for saving her 6-month old daughter’s life despite a bullet wound to the head that would eventually end her life.
Earlier this month, Antoine Davis, a former Marine who served in Iraq, reportedly became "belligerently drunk and abusive." The mother, Jessica Arrendale, tried to defend herself from Davis with a baseball bat, but was later overpowered and was struck by the bat several times; her 6-month-old daughter, Cobie, was also possibly struck.
Arrendale locked herself in a bathroom and Davis returned with an assault rifle.
A gofundme.com page was set up to financially help the children left behind. So far it has raised more than $39,000, surprassing the $10,000 originally wanted.
