A video of a mother allegedly on drugs, twitching on the ground as she cared for her toddler, led to her arrest Monday.
In a disturbing video that went viral on Facebook, both a man and a woman can be seen rolling over on a porch and convulsing as a toddler cries nearby.
According to AL.com, Mobile County, Alabama, sheriff's deputies started receiving tips about the video on Feb. 20 from concerned people as far away as Birmingham, England.
"This video has become very viral," Lori Myles, spokeswoman for the Mobile County Sheriff's Office, told WKRG. "It has upset a lot of people and we think it is the responsibility of that mother as well as the other two people in that video -- that they should be charged."
Within three days, deputies identified persons of interest in the case. Authorities removed the child from the home by Feb. 27, AL.com reported.
Just before noon on Monday, deputies booked Lauren Brooke Englett, 18, into Mobile County Metro Jail on one count of third-degree domestic violence, reckless endangerment.
“The mother admitted (to) being on spice to us,” Myles told AL.com.
Authorities continued to search for the other two persons of interest in the case. WKRG identified the suspected camerawoman as Rachel Rikard, 19. The man in the video was identified as Jamie Jemison, 25.
Both are wanted on charges of reckless endangerment, according to the news station.
