Music City Minute: ACM Awards Interviews with Luke Combs, Maren Morris, Morgan Wallen, & More!

The ACM Awards are tonight, and they kick off at 7pm! It’s going to be a little different this year since they aren’t having the show in Vegas due to COVID. It will be happening in Nashville from three different venues, the Grand Ole Opry House, the legendary Ryman Auditorium, and the Bluebird Café.

Keith Urban will host the show from the Grand Ole Opry and he’ll also be performing his new song “One Too Many” for the first time with P!nk!

You want to make sure you’re watching the opening to the show – all of the Entertainer of the Year nominees will be performing. However, this isn’t just a regular performance, they’ll all be singing a medley of their hits. We’ll get to see Carrie Underwood, Eric Church, Luke Bryan, Thomas Rhett, and Luke Combs!

Makes sure you’re listening to Y100 an hour before the show starting at 6pm for our ACM Pre-Show Party where we talk to your favorite artists in some fun virtual interviews! I teamed up with some girls from our sister stations and we all took turns talking to them about their music, the show tonight, and what’s been going on in their lives!

Luke Combs is up for a few awards tonight including Entertainer of the Year and he will also be performing on the show. He talked about how he cried at his wedding, what they did for their Honeymoon, naming his future chickens, crocs, and how he’s ready for 2020 to be over.

Maren Morris will perform her song “To Hell and Back” tonight on the show and she has the most awards for a female on the show. She already won one award and is still up for 4 others! Maren had an interview that aired on CBS This Morning where she really opened about being a new Mom and dealing with postpartum depression.

Morgan Wallen is also one of the favorites performing tonight, he’ll sing “Whiskey Glasses” from the Grand Ole Opry House. He talked about new music, his son Indie, and I asked what he does when his song comes on the radio.

Check out the other artists we talked to and all of the full interviews here.

And don’t forget to listen tonight at 6pm for the ACM Pre-Show party on your radio, then the show kicks off on CBS at 7pm!

Beth was born and raised in the beach town of Jacksonville, Florida where she grew up listening to country music! Beth’s Mom always tells the story of how Beth would listen to the radio on her giant yellow AM/FM headset every night and belt out Brooks & Dunn’s “My Maria” – it’s one of Beth’s favorite memories.
