Music City Minute: Thomas Rhett, Carrie Underwood, Blake Shelton

Have you ever wondered how songwriters keep coming up with new stuff? Well, they wonder about that too… and sometimes they freak out a little. It's a concern Thomas Rhett shared during a recent interview.

He said, "Every time I finish a record in my brain I go, I have nothing else to say. How in the world are we gonna write for another record?"

He overcomes that by tapping into whatever's in his brain at that moment in time. He said, "It's funny how the moment you start writing [again] you realize there are a million things you haven't said about your life or about past experiences."

He says his last album, "Life Changes", happened while he and his wife were "in the thick of the process" of becoming parents… so the music reflected that. Now he's working on the follow-up, and you can guess where that's going.

Thomas said, "And now we're in the thick of the actual happening of being parents, and so there's a lot of cool, different inspiration that we pulled from that." No word when the next album will be out.

You know I'm all about positivity, so of course I love that Carrie Underwood recorded a PSA for Disney's "Choose Kindness" campaign. She asks us all to "stop the hate and spread some love." You'll also notice her song "Love Wins" playing in the background.

Blake Shelton wants people to know that he is a lucky man. His girlfriend Gwen Stefani turned 49 yesterday and the country singer sent out a very public, very eye-catching tweet.

Oh my! Blake sure doesn’t hold back! Happy Birthday Gwen!
