Music City Minute: Maren Morris, Chris Stapleton, Tim & Faith!

It seems like there's some drama going on after the ACM Awards on Sunday. Maren Morris hit up Twitter to call out "Rolling Stone" for saying Sunday's ACMs "dropped the ball" on their Route 91 tribute. They accused the academy of being "unwilling to confront difficult emotion head-on."

Maren took this personally because she was one of the artists who addressed the tragedy at the beginning of the show. She called "Rolling Stone's" accusation "unnecessary."

She said, "Artists who want to talk about Vegas HAVE talked about it and everyone just wants to exhale. How about asking one of the country fans who survived that night if they felt the ball was dropped. Or Jason Aldean. I think the ACMs were respectful."

She also added, "I get that everyone has an opinion, but if you weren't there and they aren't YOUR fans who were taken, maybe don't judge a show that's trying to help everyone move on." Which all seem like great points, and good for her for speaking out.

Some positive ACM Awards news, as you probably know by now Chris Stapleton didn’t attend the show on Sunday because he was on baby watch with his wife Morgane. Well, Reba made the announcement on the show that the twin boys arrived early and congratulated them both. Yesterday Chris tweeted that everyone was doing great, and his wife Morgane shared the first photo of them, and it’s just so precious!

Tim McGraw and Faith Hill made the TMZ website! But not for something crazy, they are standing by their man, Ed Sheeran and insist one of their hit duets -- which he wrote -- was not a rip-off of an Australian hit song.

A few months back we told you about Faith and Tim saying they lawfully licensed their song, "The Rest of Our Life" ... which would mean there's zero issue with them performing it. They also deny the track is a "note for note" duplication of "When I Found You" ... a 2014 country hit for Jasmine Rae.

The update is Tim and Faith just filed their response to the suit, and while they are backing Ed's claim he wrote an original ... they also say IF their hit song is based on Jasmine's, and her songwriters DO suffer any damages ... it ain't their fault. Basically, Tim and Faith are like look we're just up here singing ... talk to our writer.

And a reminder tonight on TV Dierks Bentley and Gwen Stefani will be on the "Jimmy Kimmel" show!
