Music City Minute: Luke Bryan, Jon Pardi, Blake Shelton, The Voice

You know if anything has to do with George Strait I have to tell you about it! As we know, Luke Bryan and Jon Pardi are on tour together, because they were here a few weeks ago at the AT&T Center. Over the weekend they did a duet of George Strait’s “Carrying Your Love With Me” and it was great!

The Voice’s Season 15 kicked off last night and featured coaches Adam Levine, Kelly Clarkson, Jennifer Hudson, and Blake Shelton. A standout contestant was 29-year-old Mikele Buck, an Iraq veteran who shared a tragic story: One of his military friends, that was struck with PTSD, sadly committed suicide.

Before he sang, he noted tearfully, “Everyone is worrying about who’s kneeling for a flag or what some politician said, when we’ve got this problem. I don’t get it."

He then sang a moving version of "She Used to be Mine" by Brooks & Dunn, which of course Blake immediately recognized.

To everyone’s surprise he chose Kelly Clarkson as his coach because his entire family is basically obsessed with her, his daughters were crying, it was a sweet moment.

Another standout country contestant on The Voice last night was Kameron Marlowe, a 21-year-old powerhouse vocalist from North Carolina who sang a confident and sexy version of Luke Combs “One Number Away” that caused Blake Shelton and Kelly Clarkson to turn their chairs.

Kameron chose Team Blake, and The Blind Auditions will continue tonight at 7!
