Music City Minute: Jason Aldean, Luke Bryan, + Tim & Faith News!

Jason Aldean and his band have kept a low profile in the aftermath of the October 1st shooting during his headline set at the Route 91 Harvest Festival in Las Vegas. But over the weekend they made a surprise appearance on “Saturday Night Live,” opening the show with a few words from Jason and a performance of Tom Petty’s “I Won’t Back Down.” Petty died as a result of a heart attack the day after the festival shooting.

Luke Bryan appeared on Good Morning America on Friday to announce the release of his sixth studio album, called What Makes You Country. There's 15 songs on the album and it'll be out December 8th. It will feature seven songs co-written by Luke, including, "Light It Up." Luke says, "It is important to me to continue to push myself to grow on all levels and I feel like we did that on this project. Making and performing music never gets old and I can honestly say I am having the time of my life."

While celebrating their 21st wedding anniversary on Friday Tim McGraw and Faith Hill took some time to announce the release of their first album together, The Rest of Our Life, out November 17. In addition to revealing their new duet project on Friday, they also put out their new song "The Rest of Our Life" and something we just found out, pop star Ed Sheeran actually served as a co-writer on the song.
