Music City Minute: Dierks Bentley, Carrie Underwood, Chris Stapleton

Dierks Bentley had a lot of help from his friends on Sunday night as he opened his new Whiskey Row bar and restaurant in downtown Nashville. Dierks launched the new Nashville hot spot by welcoming several of his fellow stars to the stage to sing a few 90's country covers. The night included performances from Dierks, as well as Kelsea Ballerini, Thomas Rhett, Maren Morris, Jon Pardi, Brothers Osborne, Cole Swindell, Lauren Alaina, Maddie and Tae and more.

Carrie Underwood finally gave fans what they've been craving on Friday, she released her anthemic song, "The Champion," to the world. Carrie teamed up with rapper Ludacris for the new song, which will open NBC's Super Bowl 52 on February 4th with a video that was filmed last year. In addition to opening this year's big game, "The Champion" will also be incorporated into NBC's coverage of the 2018 Olympic Winter Games, which kick off on February 9 in South Korea.

Carrie co-wrote "The Champion" last year with fellow songwriters Brett James, Chris DeStefano and Ludacris (Christopher Bridges), who Carrie personally asked to collaborate on the tune. Carrie says their main focus when writing the song was celebrating athletes at the top of their game, while also resonating with people in their everyday lives. Carrie says, "We hope the lyrics will inspire people to push themselves beyond their limits to conquer anything they are trying to accomplish or overcome. There's a champion in every single one of us!" Ludacris says, "It was a pleasure to collaborate with Carrie for this inspirational song."

Two years after making his debut on NBC's Saturday Night Live in 2016, Chris Stapleton is heading back to the show January 27th. He’ll join the host for that evening, Will Ferrell.
