Music City Minute: CMT Artists of the Year, Carrie Underwood, Thomas Rhett

This year's "CMT Artists of the Year" special is going to be all female. Every honoree will be a woman.

Miranda Lambert, Maren Morris, Carrie Underwood, Kelsea Ballerini… Little Big Town's Karen Fairchild and Kimberly Schlapman… and Lady Antebellum's Hillary Scott.

People are saying this could be their way of recognizing the #MeToo movement and maybe the lack of female Entertainer of the Year nominees at the CMAs and ACMs. Either way it’s definitely appreciated by the female arists.

Maren Morris Tweeted, "Thank you for narrowing the gap in this industry. Proud to be honored among friends this night." Kelsea Ballerini said, "Goodness, I love you CMT." Hillary Scott wrote, "This puts a smile on my face like no other."

And Little Big Town gave a shout-out, "Couldn't be any prouder to stand alongside these inspiring women. Thank you CMT." No word yet on the list of performers. The show will air October 17th.

Speaking of Carrie Underwood she will receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Sept. 20.
Carrie will receive the 2,646th star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Two very important men in Carrie's life will speak at the event--Simon Cowell and Brad Paisley--who have shared the television screen with Carrie numerous times. Simon was a judge on American Idol when Carrie was named the Season 4 winner in 2005. Brad and Carrie will co-host the CMA Awards for the 11th time on Nov. 14. And don't forget Carrie's new album "Cry Pretty" comes out Friday!

This is hilarious – so you might remember Thomas Rhett and his wife Lauren recently vacationed in Italy, he shared the story of how they went on a moped-riding adventure:

Thomas Rhett: "Me and Lauren rented a moped, which was probably one of the worst best decisions we ever made. Our friends rented a moped as well, and they literally, when they pulled out of the moped parking lot, their moped fell onto the side, like in the middle of the street. Me and Lauren were like, are we still gonna do this? And Lauren was like, 'Yep.' And I was like, 'Alright, here we go.' And we literally drove that thing five hours up around Lake Como and saw George Clooney's house, and it was pretty awesome."
