Music City Minute: Chris Young, Jason Aldean, Carrie Underwood, Chris Stapleton

You know when you see somebody in concert you don't really think about how they spent their day. I thought this was so interesting, turns out there’s a lot of stuff our favorite country artists must do before they can actually "go to work" and sing on stage.

Chris Young gave a sample day-in-the-life and although he didn't include the traveling part, it's still a very full day.

Obviously, he works at night, so things don't start too early. He likes to kick it off with a workout at the gym, and he's done with that around 1:30. Then, this kinda surprised me he irons his own clothes, and then goes in for the sound check at 2:30.

Then Chris says comes the "highlight of his day." A meet and greet with radio hosts and some of his fans. Late afternoon is when he gets himself dressed and ready for the show.

Then he returns to the venue to do more interviews, plus another VIP with fans. He's done with that around five o'clock, and then it's dinner and show prep… and he finally takes the stage at nine o'clock. So that’s what a day in the life of Chris Young looks like!

Jason Aldean will be performing on "Fox's New Year's Eve with Steve Harvey: Live From Times Square". I've only heard of "Dick Clark's Rockin' New Year's Eve" so maybe this is new, or possibly something that's been going on for a while that I've just missed. Maria Menounos will co-host, and other performers include Sting, Robin Thicke, Florence + the Machine, Latin singer Juanes, and boy band Why Don't We. So that gives you another option to flip back and forth to.

Carrie Underwood is definitely a busy gal these days and of course like most of us she’s already making plans for the holidays. This year she’s doing it a little different, she plans to hunker down with the family this Christmas

Carrie says, “This year we're going to relax a little more and we're going to be home, because we usually [travel] to Oklahoma or Canada or both to spend time with all of our family, but this year we're going to [stay] in one place and just be together."

And lastly, there’s a great gift idea for the Chris Stapleton fan in your life. It's a candle named Stapleton X Apothia, and it's designed by his wife Morgane. There are notes of African ginger, rich mahogany, deep Taboti wood, and grains of paradise. Sounds amazing, and it'll run you $58, but they're promising 60 hours of burn time.
