Just because the Tony Awards are prerecorded doesn't mean things don't get a little awkward onstage.
Here are the most cringeworthy moments from the 2015 show.
First, Anna Chlumsky and Debra Messing clearly didn't compare outfits before hitting the stage together to present the award for featured actor in a play.

Twinning! Of course, dozens of media outlets were quick to point out the snafu. Because who doesn't love an awkward outfit moment?
Next, an appearance by Jennifer Lopez and Nick Jonas was supposed to be one of the highlights of the awards. But it ended up being pretty, well, weird.
"Yes, it tells a story of how playwright J.M. Barrie found the inspiration for the tale about a boy who refused to grow up, of course."
"In the show's thrilling climax to act one, Barrie is faced with a choice: to write something risky and new or to give up." (Video via Courtesy: CBS/Tony Award Productions)
Ugh, make it stop! As a writer for Bustle put it, "Aside from having terrible timing, they looked uninterested in their duties and it was just completely unpleasant to watch."
Speaking of words, "The King and I" star Ruthie Ann Miles was cut short during her acceptance speech by a rather odd sound ...
"There's a lot of people here. My heart. I'm very grateful. And especially to God, my whole heart and trust is in him." (Video via Courtesy: CBS/Tony Award Productions)
Yup, her acceptance speech was just too long for the Tonys band, which started to play her off the stage near the end of her big moment. Bye, Ruthie.
And finally, we'll leave you with this wacky gem brought to you by hosts Kristin Chenoweth and Alan Cumming.

That one doesn't even need an explanation. There were plenty of other memorable moments at the 2015 Tonys.
