Rapper Rick Ross released from hospital after 4 days, report says

After being in the hospital for four days, rapper Rick Ross is now at home.

TMZ reported that the Maybach Music Group mogul was released early Monday morning. He is receiving care at his home.

Citing unnamed sources, TMZ reported that Ross had respiratory issues that ended up being heart-related. 

On Thursday, emergency crews came to Ross’ Davie, Florida, home, according to Us Weekly. Citing a dispatch record, Us Weekly reported that the rapper was found unresponsive and breathing heavily. The publication reported that he became “combative” with medical professionals, and police were called.

While in the hospital, celebrities expressed well wishes to the 42-year-old rapper on Twitter, including Missy Elliot, Debroah Cox, Chris Paul, Gucci Mane and Martin Lawrence.

In 2011, Ross had two seizures on two separate flights. In 2016, he told Men’s Health he adopted a healthier lifestyle, losing more than 75 pounds.

Representatives for Ross have not commented on his hospitalization or release.

Rapper Rick Ross reportedly hospitalized after medical issue

Rapper Rick Ross is is currently in a hospital following a medical issue according to reports.

Emergency crews were called to his home in Davie, Florida, Thursday morning according to Us Weekly. 

Davie Police Department officers were also called to the scene after Ross reportedly was “combative” with medical crews.

He was taken to an area hospital and is in the cardiac unit, according to Rolling Stone.

In 2011, Ross suffered two seizures on two different flights. Since then, he has changed his lifestyle and dieted, losing over 100 pounds, according to TMZ.

Ross, whose real name is William Roberts, is the founder of Mayback Music Group, which is home to acts such as Wale, Meek Mill and French Montana. Ross’ biggest hit may be “Hustlin,” which was released in 2006. The rapper has appeared on other songs, most recently “New Flame” by Chris Brown featuring Atlanta-based recording artist Usher.

On Saturday, Rick Ross was reportedly still hospitalized in Miami for an undisclosed medical issue. Although many celebrities took to social media to offer prayers, one sent a message that wasn’t as heartfelt.

50 Cent recently posted a still frame of the character Ivan Drago from the film “Rocky IV” to his Instagram page. In that particular scene, the boxer says, “If he dies, he dies” after knocking out his opponent Apollo Creed.

About an hour later, he shared another picture featuring Al Pacino's Scarface, writing, "Yeah I'm different."

While the uploads did not mention Ross, many across the internet speculate the “In Da Club” artist was targeting the Wingstop franchiser, who’s been one of his rivals for years.

The two emcees have publicly feuded since 2009 by explicitly condemning each other in several songs and interviews. The ongoing fight has even included cartoons, alleged sex tapes leaks and even lawsuits.

On Friday night, Ross was rushed to the hospital after reportedly suffering a heart attack. His current status has not been officially confirmed by family.

This isn’t the 42-year-old’s first health scare. In 2011 he suffered two seizures within hours and later openly discussed his poor health habits. Following his illness, he underwent a weight loss challenge and dropped 75 pounds.

Rapper/businessman Rick Ross is reportedly still hospitalized in Miami after suffering what is believed to be a heart attack.

His status has not been officially confirmed by family, but the rap and celebrity community was out in full force on social media Friday night offering prayers for Ross.

While Ross spent his formative years in Miami and still lives there, he also maintains a footprint in Atlanta. Ross, born William Leonard Roberts II, owns a 54,000-square-foot estate in Fayetteville, Georgia, previously held by Evander Holyfield.

Ross, 42, also oversees several franchise locations of Wingstop and Checkers throughout the South and in 2015, pledged to open a branch of his Maybach Music Group in Atlanta.

His health issues have also been well-documented. In 2011, he suffered a series of seizures and in interviews discussed his poor health habits. Following the seizures, Ross vowed to take better care of himself and soon lost more than 75 pounds.

Ross recently released the new song, “Florida Boy,” with T-Pain and Kodak Black. His next album, “Port of Miami 2: Born to Kill,” is expected to be released soon.
