Beth was born and raised in the beach town of Jacksonville, Florida where she grew up listening to country music! Beth’s Mom always tells the story of how Beth would listen to the radio on her giant yellow AM/FM headset every night and belt out Brooks & Dunn’s “My Maria” – it’s one of Beth’s favorite memories.
At a young age Beth knew she wanted to be on the radio, she would call the local radio station every night to be a guest DJ on their “Top 5 at 8” countdown. Fast forward to college, Beth had to pick a major and without question chose Communications with a track of Broadcasting. She graduated college in 2008 and was often told in radio your first job will probably be in a “small town you hate and can’t wait to get out of” so she decided to make things a little different than the norm. Beth worked 3 different part time jobs at a restaurant, a sports bar, and the local radio station for about 5 years after she graduated college. She was determined to live in an awesome city and work for an awesome station for her first full time job. After multiple rejections, auditions, and applications she got a call from a station in San Antonio, Y100. She was flown out that week to interview, the boss loved her, and she was hired!
First she started at Y100 doing the Midday shift (10-2) and now four years later she still does that shift, along with her dream job of being on a country morning show! Her ultimate dream in life was to be on a morning show so she could make people laugh every morning and forget about their problems.
In her free time she likes to do normal girly things like get pedicures, drink wine and try out new places to eat, hang out with friends, go to concerts, and also do fun things outside like hiking, floating the river, or Zumba!
She’s always looking for new ways to hang out and connect with people who love the show. In fact, most of her friends here in SA started as “listeners” and are now her best friends. She loves meeting new people!
