Music City Minute: Miranda Lambert, Dan + Shay, Darius Rucker, George Strait

Dan + Shay held an Instagram live video on last night to announce the release of their self-titled third studio album coming out on June 22. The 11-track album will include their current Top 10 single "Tequila," as well as a collaboration with Kelly Clarkson titled "Keeping Score." Fans who pre-order the album will instantly receive the song "Tequila," as well as their newly released tracks, "All To Myself" and "Speechless." The song speechless features their wives and it’s so sweet. In the Instagram live Dan said they crushed the production on this album, and we're very very proud of it. He said, he feels like this is gonna be the most important album that we've ever put out.

Darius Rucker will be on American Idol Monday for a special performance during part two of the show's live two-night season finale. Some of the other stars on the two-night finale line-up include Bebe Rexha, Patti LaBelle, and Nick Jonas. It’s getting tense as the final 3 Gabby Barrett, Caleb Lee Hutchinson and Maddie Poppe compete for the crown! The episode will air live at 8:00 PM on ABC.

I guess this means Miranda Lambert and Turnpike Troubadors singer Evan Felker are still going strong. He filed a "scheduling order" on Tuesday to end his relationship with his wife Staci. Seems he's afraid she might try to "unduly delay" the divorce.

A source says, Staci is surprised by her estranged husband’s motion and she too is eager to move on. “Anyone who actually speaks to Staci knows she has wanted out of this marriage for months. Evan is the one who disappeared again and changed his phone number,” claims the insider. “They both planned to end this quietly. Stacy has never wanted to go to court and Evan told Stacy he did not want to either, so there is probably someone a little more powerful dictating all of this.”

The same day that Evan filed the motion, Staci shared a cryptic message via social media about their relationship. The brunette beauty posted a picture of a book cover via Instagram with the title reading, “WELL I WAS CLEARLY MORE INTO THAT THAN YOU WERE: A LOVE STORY.”

Today is George Strait’s birthday and we are celebrating by hookin’ you up with tickets to see him at the Frank Erwin Center in Austin June 3rd all day at 8:40, 10:40, 12:40, 2:40, & 4:40!

Music City Minute: Blake Shelton, Keith Urban, Thompson Square, Carrie Underwood

Blake Shelton's new Ole Red Nashville will officially celebrate its grand opening during CMA Fest on June 6-10. The restaurant, bar and music venue will host multiple events throughout the week, including a "Blake Shelton and Friends" concert following the CMT Awards on June 6, where Blake will be on hand to christen the new Ole Red Nashville stage. The show will also feature a few special guest performers, who will be announced at a later date. Tickets for Blake’s performance won't go on sale to the public, but fans who want to attend will be able to enter for a chance to win a coveted spot inside. Fans can enter to win by visiting olered.com/grand-opening-sweepstakes/ - fans who don't win tickets can stream the first three songs from the event live on Ole Red Nashville's Facebook page at 11 PM CT.

Keith Urban is known for his guitar skills, so it's pretty cool to hear him go unplugged on the piano. He posted a clip the other day of himself performing his song "Parallel Line".

Thompson Square shared the track list for their new album, "Masterpiece", which is due out June 1st. This is their first new album in some five years. They went through a "transformative period"… that included becoming parents to their son Rigney, who was born in 2016.

It seems like the album will offer an eclectic mix of sounds, blending the genres of R&B, rock and even reggae. This is the title track of the album “Masterpiece”

Carrie Underwood has been working quite hard of late promoting her latest single, "Cry Pretty," as well as appearing on the latest episode of American Idol last Sunday. So it only makes sense that she'd be ready to relax for a few days...and it appears from her social media she's doing just that.

Carrie posted a series of photos of herself, husband Mike Fisher, and son Isaiah enjoying some time in California's beautiful Napa Valley. She's actually there for a work purpose of headlining the Live in the Vineyard festival – but she’s also found time to have fun, she did some wine tasting on her trip, as well as a special meal that her little boy apparently helped to prepare in her photo share (flip through to see).

"Napa Valley, you are my happy place," she captioned the photos. "Amazing wine, beautiful scenery, wonderful friends, new places and a yummy dinner created by @chefchiarello and his apprentice, Isaiah Fisher! And that was just the first day here! Life is good..."

Music City Minute: Florida Georgia Line, Jennifer Nettles, Kane Brown, Blake Shelton, The Voice

Florida Georgia Line is expanding their empire! A new FGL Boat House establishment is in the works in Florida. The guys shared a concept rendering of the future FGL Boat House on Instagram yesterday along with a caption saying, "Anyone else think an FGL Boat House needs to happen in Florida?! Welp, maybe it is." The picture shows a large, multi-level venue that's overlooking a spacious pool and deck area. It looks like a place you could go to relax and enjoy a cold drink. The guys didn't say which part of the state FGL Boat House would be located in, but an eagle eye look at the Instagram video seems to place it somewhere along the Florida Panhandle near the scenic Highway 30A and Choctawhatchee Bay, kind of near the Destin area. Then in a separate video, Brian Kelley turned the camera on himself and said:Brian Kelley: "I guess maybe BK maybe had a couple drinks at lunch and decided to maybe spill some beans about, you know, an FGL Boat House. Maybe that happens."

Jennifer Nettles from Sugarland gave a commencement speech at her alma mater, Agnes Scott College in Decatur, Georgia over the weekend.

She admitted to being nervous, which is ironic considering she performs for a living. She also joked about pulling all-nighters and being "over-served" when she was a student.

Agnes Scott is a women's college so most of her comments were, obviously, meant to inspire the next generation of females.

She said, "I want you to be fearless dream warriors. I want you to be the boss ladies of your own lives. I want you to live authentically in your truth. I want you to be so in touch with your truth that nothing can pull you off of your path."

She talked about overcoming discrimination, "I want you to be clear and to know that it will be harder for you as a woman to do it all… to have a dream and a job and a relationship and a family.\

"And if you are a woman of color, it will be even harder. I want you to be fierce for yourselves then and for each other, and fight to change all of that."

And she told the graduates to never, ever settle, "I want you to be curious women. Let your favorite questions be 'What if?' and 'Why not?' Instead of 'Why me?' Why not ask, 'Why NOT me?'

"Somebody has to live her best life, achieve her goals, find love and fulfill all her dreams. Might as well be you, right? That's how I look at it. Might as well be me. Might as well be you. [It] should be you living her best life and fulfilling her dreams."

(The part about being "over-served" comes at 4:10. The "fearless dream warriors" is at 6:00. Fighting "discrimination" is at 7:30. And she urges them to be "curious women" at 15:46.)

Last night eight contestants before four on The Voice but first before we found out if San Antonio girl Spensha Baker made it to the finale we got to see some performances! Kane Brown performed his song “Heaven”:

Blake Shelton performed “I Lived It”:

When we got to the actual results, Spensha Baker, Brynn Cartelli, and Kyla Jake were granted a place in the finale, and then Pryor Baird, Kaleb Lee, and Britton Buchanan, had to basically do a sing off for one last chance to return to the stage on next Monday night. When it got down to it, Britton was saved!

This is great news for us! Our San Antonio girl Spensha Baker moves on to the finale next week and we’ll continue to cheer her on Monday at 7!

Music City Minute: The Voice, Maren Morris, Sam Hunt

Last night kicked off the semifinals on The Voice and the Top 8 performed including San Antonio’s own Spensha Baker! She sang an awesome cover of Maren Morris’s “My Church”:

After her performance Blake just went crazy saying, "It’s like everything she’s been holding back this entire season, the dam just broke," he went on to say this is the best time for this breakthrough to happen. And that he would be shocked if she wasn’t in the finale.

Make sure you’re watching tonight to see who makes it to the Finals next week. Tonight’s special episode will also include a performance from Blake Shelton and Kane Brown.

Speaking of Maren Morris, she has been writing music for her next album, and was asked recently if getting married has changed her lyrical approach.

She said, "The lyrics are more grown-up. I recorded my debut album when I was 24… I'm 28 now. Doesn't feel like that long ago, but a lot has happened in that chunk of time. I'm in a healthier headspace [and] less judgmental of myself."

Maren also says she's been feeling the pressure to make sure her second album doesn't fall flat. Fortunately, she got some great advice from Keith Urban about that. He told her not to overthink it. He said every album is a snapshot of that artist's life at that time… so "focus on being there"… and then move on.

You can see Maren performing with Zedd & Grey to perform their song "The Middle" at Sunday's "Billboard Music Awards".

This is interesting. Sam Hunt has been out of the music scene for a while, a lot of people are assuming he’s enjoying being a newlywed or maybe working hard on some new music. Well… instead of talking about all the exciting new music he's coming up with, Sam Hunt admits he's got nothing to say.

He said, "It's hard to explain to folks who aren't necessarily writing songs or in this business. When I'm singing a song as an artist, there's only so much that I really want to say or have to say. I haven't had a whole lot to say in the past year.

"So I've been writing songs that I don't really feel are representing me, so I haven't put out a record in the past year."

He has been recording some of those songs, and a new single will be out in the next few weeks. He's also going on tour at the end of the month… and is hoping that'll light the fire.

Sam went on to say, "I'm just looking forward to getting on the road. I have a lot of ambitions but I don't know. I just haven't really found that inspiration yet. I think it's just taking the time to find the inspiration while on the road."

Music City Minute: American Idol Recap, Carrie Underwood, Luke Bryan

Last night American Idol went from the Top 5 down to the Top 3! Contestants performed a song from the catalog of Carrie Underwood and a Mother’s Day related song. Maddie Pope sang Carrie Underwood’s “I Told You So” and put her own twist on it.

Caleb Lee Hutchinson also made it in to the Top 3 with his version of Carrie Underwood’s “So Small”

And my favorite contestant since the beginning, our country girl Gabby Barrett sang “Last Name” and killed it in her performance as usual!

The Top 3 will compete again for America’s Vote as the American Idol two-night finale begins LIVE next Sunday at 7pm on ABC!

Speaking of American Idol – Luke Bryan got a big surprise on the show last night for Mother’s Day. Luke’s Mom made an unannounced visit live on the show! It was super cute Luke’s Mom LeClaire sent what seemed to be a taped message to her son:

"Hi Luke," she started in the clip. "I miss you here on Mother’s Day. (I) wish I could be with you. I’m having a good day down here at the beach. Wish you were here with me. I’m very proud of you. I’m getting excited about the night. I get to watch American Idol one more time. Love you. Call you in the morning. I have something to tell you about fishing."

The Nashville Predators were eliminated from the Stanley Cup playoffs on Thursday, Carrie Underwood shared a video on Instagram of her son, Isaiah, helping his dad, Mike Fisher, shave off his playoff beard. In the video, the 3-year-old can be seen taking an electric trimmer to his dad's face as they sit in the bathroom and Carrie films the whole thing. The caption said, "Prediction: This won't end well..." Carrie then posted a picture of special moment on Instagram Stories, writing, "Saving $$$ on grooming now that he's out of a job." The Preds' heartbreaking loss to the Winnipeg Jets in Game 7 of their series brought an end to the team's playoff run, and it also likely marked the end of Mike’s NHL career, as he's expected to retire again after this season. After the game, Carrie took to Twitter to share a message of support for her husband and the team he's played with for so many years.Carrie tweeted, "Welp, to me & our 3 year-old, @mikefisher1212 is the greatest hockey player alive & the @PredsNHL are now & forever the greatest hockey team in NHL history! Not the ending we wanted, but we're alive & well & I get my hubby back, so I say God is good!"

Music City Minute: Chris Stapleton & Justin Timberlake, Carrie Underwood, Luke Combs

Carrie Underwood appeared on NBC's Today show yesterday, giving her first TV interview since her fall last November. She sat down with Today's Hoda Kotb, and Carrie opened about returning to the spotlight after her fall, saying, "In the beginning, I feel like I didn't know how things were gonna end up. It just wasn't pretty." After Hoda told Carrie she looks the same as before, the singer credited her "dedicated team of professionals who can spackle and paint and paste." She then said she's feeling "a little more back to normal" every day.During the candid interview, Carrie also talked her ACM Awards performance of "Cry Pretty" and revealed the spot where she usually goes to cry: in her car. The two then joined Carrie's mother, Carole, for a special Mother Day's workout event for her fitness line, CALIA by Carrie Underwood.

Fans attending Justin Timberlake's Nashville show got a huge surprise Wednesday night when Justin welcomed his friend Chris Stapleton onstage for a couple songs! First they performed their duet "Say Something":

Then Justin hinted that they weren't finished just yet, telling Chris, "Now you know I can't let you leave without playing this song." Then they started to sing "Tennessee Whiskey," a song which they sang together at the 2015 CMA Awards in the very same building.

Ya’ll know how obsessed I am with Luke Combs.. well he was in my hometown on Tuesday at the TPC at Sawgrass golf course where he gave a special performance during Military Appreciation Day ahead of the annual The Players Championship golf tournament. Every year they have a country singer perform on the 17th hole stage. Well Luke Combs decided to take a break from his set and tried to hit a ball onto the iconic island green while professional golfers Justin Rose and Brandon Grace watched. In the video Luke can be seen taking his best shot at the island green, but ultimately ending up in the drink which I learned means the water apparently.

Music City Minute: Keith Urban, Dierks Bentley, Carrie Underwood, Kelly Clarkson

Keith Urban will celebrate his wife, Nicole Kidman, this Mother's Day for the kind of mom she is to their two daughters, Faith Margaret and Sunday Rose.

Keith Urban: "I didn't really grow up with much intimacy in my family, and Nic is wonderful with intimacy. So, that's absolutely the biggest thing I'm learning in being married to her first and foremost, but in watching her being a mom to our girls, is fostering that intimacy and expressing and communicating. I think our girls are very lucky to have her as their mom for that."

Dierks Bentley knows how hard his wife works to keep their growing family in check while he's on the road because when he's home, he and Cassidy tag team at parenthood.

Dierks Bentley: "It's the toughest job out there being a mom, and I know from my life with my wife Cassidy. We work as a team together when I'm home, and it takes everyone to get the job done, me and her, working together."

Carrie Underwood isn't worried about getting that special gift from her son Isaiah this Mother's Day. She knows the two men in her life will hook her up.

Carrie Underwood: "I obviously don't expect anything from my three-year-old, but my husband's really good at getting presents from quote unquote Isaiah. It's really sweet, because he likes to bring me things. He's such a sweet little guy, and anytime he's outside, he'll pick me flowers and things."

Speaking of Carrie Underwood she posted on Instagram yesterday to share a few pictures from her "fun day" at the Nashville Zoo with her cousins. The pictures show the group hanging out with the giraffes and the kids petting one of the zoo's many kangaroos. Carrie said in the caption, "Loved seeing the kiddos bond and learn about all the animals!"

This is SO adorable! Kelly Clarkson likes to quilt. And she's pretty good at it, too—earlier the week Kelly gave homemade quilts to her costars on The Voice.

Blake Shelton, Adam Levine, and Carson Daly all proudly showed off their new quilts on social media, each of which was designed by Kelly to fit the recipient's personality.

Blake raved over his quilt, which was made up of rustic-looking blue shades and a patch that hilariously pays tribute to his home state of Oklahoma (it reads "Useless land north of Texas.")

5 Places To Find The Perfect Mother’s Day Gift!

Blue Q – I had never heard of this site before but I went and checked it out it has AWESOME little gifts and knick knacks for Mom like dish towels, bags, & socks! You might even find something for yourself on there.

Etsy – is always a go to for any holiday. They always have amazing personalized gifts that seem special, and not just like you threw it together last minute, and a lot of the little shops on there can do priority shipping. One Mother’s Day I got a recipe my Grandmother wrote printed on a dish towel for my Mom.

Another online option is Mark & Graham; I had never heard of them but apparently they’re a sister company to William & Sonoma so I knew it had to be good! They have all sorts of accessories you can get stamped or sewn with Moms initials but this isn’t a basic monogrammed site, the things you can buy look high quality and I actually got my Mom something from there and I can’t wait to give it to her!

Now if you’re more of a store shopper and love picking out things that just speak to you.

Francesca’s – is always great for gifts, they usually set up a big table full of items for that specific holiday. You can always find something! There’s one at The Quarry & La Cantera.

Anthropologie – it’s a little fancier but you can always find amazing smelling candles there, and they have really pretty things for your kitchen whether you’re looking for dishes, glasses, or accessories.

Music City Minute: Kane Brown, Lauren Alaina, CMT Awards, John Rich, Sugarland

You know how pretty much all of our favorite country artists have bars in downtown Nashville - Dierks Bentley, Florida Georgia Line, Alan Jackson and Blake Shelton? Well now John Rich has one too! His new Redneck Riviera bar is getting ready to open in Nashville, John Rich is glad to able to join the growing list of country stars with downtown spots:

John Rich: "I think it's cool that all the country artists are doing that because Lower Broadway is where we all hung out anyway when we all came to town. So, to be able to go back and have honky tonks down there with kinda our fingerprints on it is gonna be a lot of fun." This Saturday, he will hold a special kickoff event at Redneck Riviera Nashville to raise money for Folds of Honor, an organization dedicated to providing educational scholarships to spouses and children of America's fallen and disabled service-members.

The "2018 CMT Music Awards" nominees were announced yesterday. Carrie Underwood, Florida Georgia Line, and Jason Aldean lead the pack with four nominations each.

Little Big Town, Chris Stapleton, Lauren Alaina, and Thomas Rhett are right behind with three nominations apiece. This is a fan-voted awards show so you have until midnight June 4th cast your vote. You can vote more than once.

The show airs June 6th, and Little Big Town are the hosts.

Speaking of the CMT Music Awards Kane Brown and Lauren Alaina have a decent chance of walking away with one next month for their "What Ifs" video.

But some of the best acting Kane ever did was during the ACM Awards when he and Lauren had to pretend to be romantic while performing "What Ifs"

Even though they've been friends since middle school the producers wanted them to "sell" the love song. They were coached to slowly walk towards each other until they ended up face-to-face.

Kane said, "That was the first thing they told us. They were like, 'you're over here, and you're over there… and THIS is how you end.' We were like, what? It was super awkward.

"Lauren was like, 'Might as well go ahead and grab his butt too.'"

Mother's Day is Sunday, so it's probably no coincidence that Sugarland has released the lyric video to their new song "Mother". It's one of the tracks from their album "Bigger", which is out June 8th.

Music City Minute: Carrie Underwood, Jason Aldean, Miranda Lambert, Luke Bryan, Brantley Gilbert

Carrie Underwood is making a return to her old stomping grounds, American Idol, on Sunday! She'll serve as a guest mentor to the show's remaining contestants. The top five contestants will perform songs from Carrie’s songbook on next week's live show, after a special mentoring session with her during a surprise trip to Nashville. Carrie will also be performing her new single, "Cry Pretty," on the show. The new video for "Cry Pretty" can be seen here:

Jason Aldean has revealed that "Drowns the Whiskey" featuring Miranda Lambert will be his next single. This news come as Jason continues to hold the top spot for a second straight week "You Make It Easy," his 20th career No. 1.Jason Aldean says he knew "Drowns the Whiskey" was something pretty special when he first heard the finished product with Miranda's vocals:Jason Aldean: "It was awesome, [it] turned out great just like I thought it would. And she's such a great singer, such a great harmony singer, too, that she knocked it out [of the park]. It was great and one of the highlights of this record." A behind-the-scenes look into the recording process for "Drowns the Whiskey" can be seen here in official lyric video:

Luke Bryan was on "Kimmel" last night, and said fellow judge on American Idol Lionel Richie is always telling amazing stoires, and Luke even admitted that he used to get busy to Lionel’s music.

Country stars tend to be night owls because that's when they have to perform. That's okay if you're on your own, but it's not the perfect schedule if you're raising kids. But it CAN work if the kid doesn't sleep through the night yet.

Brantley Gilbert and his wife Amber have a pretty good system going with their five-month-old son Barrett.

He says, "In the morning I'm not present. I'm asleep, but I got the late night shift. So I put him down, and then I've got the monitor until about 3:00 or 4:00 AM.

"I go up and work… and then I come down and put the monitor on her side of the bed and get me some sleep."

Even though Amber has read a lot of baby books, they still ask the doctor a bunch of questions. He says, "Every time you go in, 'Are we doing this right? Are we doing this wrong?' The whole thing's a curve ball. A moving target. You're always learning."
