Music City Minute: CMT Crossroads, Chris Young, Carrie Underwood

CMT Crossroads' latest inspired pairing is that of Brett Eldredge and Meghan Trainor, who will bring their respective musical styles together for a unique performance airing early next month. In order to get fans excited for the event, CMT has released a teaser of the pair performing Trainor's single, "No Excuses."

The episode will air at 9PM on Monday, Sept. 3.

Fake profiles have always been an issue with celebrities and it’s no secret that our favorite country artists get super annoyed with them too. Chris Young was forced to face the issue head on earlier this month, and gave a warning to his fans about catfish who pretend to be him on social media saying, "I don't know how else to say this. I don’t want money. I’m not gonna send you my number in secret. "This is my only account."

Remember when Carrie Underwood was "all of sudden" playing harmonica... and killing it? Videos started showing up of her in concert tearing through "Choctaw County Affair".

Well, it wasn't some secret skill that she hid from everyone. She just randomly decided to learn. She tells CMT, quote, "I definitely tend to get myself in over my head sometimes, and I was like, 'Wouldn't it be cool if I played the harmonica?'"

It raised a few eyebrows from her people, but that didn't stop her. She said, "I said, 'I'll figure it out. Go get me one, because I'm pretty good at playing things by ear.'"

And off she went... but she was so bad at first that her son would cry every time she played. She had to start practicing when she was alone in the car. Quote, "I'd be on my way to work... practicing harmonica."

After learning the basics she reached out to a pro who showed her "a couple of things"... and that's all she needed.

Music City Minute: Carrie Underwood, Keith Urban, Brett Eldredge, Old Dominion

Carrie Underwood made a special appearance during Keith Urban’s show in Nashville last weekend and showed off her BABY BUMP!! Carrie walks out to screams from the crowd during the chorus of Keith’s song, ‘The Fighter’ which Carrie sings back-ups to. As Keith goes through the song, Carrie can be seen rubbing her belly and obviously feeling great as she doesn’t miss a note.

Brett Eldredge is teaming up with his good friend, Meghan Trainor for next month’s CMT Crossroads! The two reportedly met at a party back in 2014 and since then have developed an incredible musical chemistry. They will be performing several songs together including Brett and Meghan’s duet of "Baby It's Cold Outside"—which is featured on Eldredge’s Christmas album, Glow -- along with Trainor's hits "All About That Bass," "Let You Be Right"; and Eldredge's “Drunk on Your Love,” “Wanna Be That Song” and “Haven’t Met You Yet."

CMT teased the event with Brett and Meghan’s performance of “No Excuses”!

The episode will air Sept. 3 on CMT at 9 PM CST.

Old Dominion just released a dance remix version of their song “New York At Night” from their 2017 ‘Happy Endings’ album! The guys said it was a fun way to take something that had more of a rock vibe and give it a dancing twist but don’t expect to see the guys busting a move soon.

"The song kind of started out as more of a dance-y sort of vibe anyway and then when we recorded it in the studio as Old Dominion we kind of made it more of a rock thing,” guitarist. Brad Tursi said.

“I think it came out great. No one the band is dancing to it though- not because it's not dance-able, but because, you know, no one would want to embarrass themselves like that."

You can check out the remix of “New York At Night“ below!

Music City Minute: Reba McEntire, Randy Houser, CMA Nominees

Reba McEntire will return for a second year as host of the ninth annual CMA Country Christmas, the two-hour music celebration that airs on ABC during the holiday season. Marking her third time performing on the show, a lineup of legendary acts and country favorites will also take the stage for a night filled with Christmas classics and festive one-of-a-kind collaborations. Joining Reba for 'CMA Country Christmas" are Tony Bennett, Dan + Shay, Brett Eldredge, Amy Grant, Dustin Lynch, Martina McBride, Old Dominion, Brad Paisley, Brett Young, & more!Reba says, "I've always cherished celebrating Christmas alongside family and friends, taking time to reflect on the season," shared Reba. "I'm so excited CMA invited me back to host their show and am looking forward to fun singing carols with my friends.""CMA Country Christmas" will be taped Thursday, Sept. 27 at Belmont University's Curb Event Center in Nashville. Tickets went on sale yesterday at CMAchristmas.com.

Randy Houser announced his new full-length album, "Magnolia," will be released November 2nd and is available today for pre-order digitally. Also released today is "No Stone Unturned" a new song off the new album, and one of Randy's personal favorites. Fans can get a live preview of Randy’s highly anticipated album as he also reveals details for his "Magnolia Tour," which kicks off this October. Pre-order Magnolia here now: https://randyhouser.lnk.to/magnolia.Magnolia marks a new era for Randy. Feeling impassionate about the music he was performing, he slowed things down to refocus on creating music. "This album was a total reset for me in every way possible. With the last album, I just didn't have time to create, and it was obvious that it didn't all come from my guts. Because of that, the music just didn't feel as genuine," Randy said. "When writing for this new project, I knew the production had to lean on songs and melodies, not a bunch of tricks and loops. That was the catalyst for album. So, for the past two years we've been focused on trying to find a unique sound and trying to best serve the songs."

Music City Minute: Miranda Lambert, Florida Georgia Line, Luke Bryan

Miranda Lambert and Evan Felker have split after dating since early February.

PEOPLE confirms Felker’s band, the Turnpike Troubadours, dropped out of their final performances of Lambert’s The Bandwagon Tour.

Miranda revealed she is “happily single” in a recent interview with The Tennessean.

“Love is a hard road sometimes and it’s been a roller-coaster ride for me, but I’m definitely thankful for all the ups and downs because I’ve had some really good songs come out of it,” Lambert said. “You’ve got to take the bad parts and put them on paper and then move on to the happy parts.”

Florida Georgia Line dropped a new song, "Sittin' Pretty." It’s a feel good song about a sun-kissed romance and is he fourth track released off their forthcoming studio album. The big surprise in this song is that Brian Kelley has the lead vocals.

Luke Bryan's Nashville restaurant, 32 Bridge Food + Drink, is where the CMA Awards nominees will be revealed on tomorrow and Luke's still trying to wrap his head around that: Luke Bryan: “You know, the ability to welcome GMA and the CMAs and ABC in my bar in downtown Nashville is pretty amazing. It kinda tells me, like, I don’t understand how I’ve gotten here. But through the years being able to perform on the CMAs, to have won two Entertainer of the Year awards is so surreal. And every time the nominations come out, it’s so fun to see who is getting nominated and what songs and it’s a special day. I mean, I would be lying if I said I don’t have my fingers crossed for certain things to go my way, but it’s not why I’m in the business to try to get nominations. But it’s certainly amazing when you do get the nominations and when they’re nominations from your peers within the CMA community and the voters. It’s very, very special.”Luke Bryan, Dan + Shay and Sugarland will reveal several CMA Awards nominees on Good Morning America, with the remaining categories being revealed online after the show.

Music City Minute: Brett Young, Carrie Underwood, Thomas Rhett

You can now start referring to Brett Young as "country singer slash model." He's the new face of Justin Timberlake’s clothing line, which is called William Rast. Brett models the fall campaign of the men's collection.

He says, "I'm so excited. It's the first time I've done anything like this, and it's been an absolute blast."

Let's hope he didn't have too much of a blast. Brett's engaged, but he HAD to do a promo video with Victoria's Secret angel Stella Maxwell, who does the female line. Hey, all in a day's work.

Speaking of Brett's wedding. It's in November and he's letting his fiancée Taylor Mills do the planning. Well, most of it.

"What I said to her was just, 'I'm going to stay out of your way until you ask me, and then when you ask me, I promise I'll get it done as quickly as I can. But I want it to be the way that you want it to be.'"

Carrie Underwood may have worn pink during her pregnancy reveal earlier this month, but that wasn’t a clue about the baby’s gender. She says, "I'm not sending out any signals. As of this moment, I don't even know... I don't even know what it is. It's a baby. But if I had worn blue it had been the other way. That's just what fit me that day was pink."

She also shared that she tried to keep her pregnancy under wraps for as long as she could, but her growing baby bump threatened to give her secret away to everyone!

She shared, "Yeah, I mean it was just tryin' to...tryin' to keep it [secret] until I couldn't it no more, and then one day I woke up looking like this and I was like, 'I guess I can't hide this no more.' Like, going to the grocery store, you know, and it's like 90 something degrees outside and I'm in giant hoodies."

Thomas Rhett and wife Lauren are enjoying a much-deserved break in the form of a romantic Italian getaway. These photos are going to make you totally jealous, and want to get some wine and pizza stat!

Music City Minute: Dustin Lynch, Jason Aldean, FGL, Old Dominion

Dustin Lynch had a career moment on Tuesday when he was asked to join the Grand Ole Opry. Trace Adkins did the inviting… and the official induction will happen on September 18th.

Dustin talked about it later. Apparently, he's an emotional guy. He said, "I'm a crier. And I held it back to just about two minutes of tears."

It was also a full-circle thing, because Trace was one of the first country stars he met, and probably the first one to insult him. It was back in high school, he was with his girlfriend, and he asked Trace to take a photo with them.

He said, "[Trace] looked at me and he looked at her and said, 'Darlin', you're dating this little shrimp?' Fast forward however many years it's been and he invites me to become a member of the Opry."

He also made a confession, Dustin said, "The first time I came here I snuck in under someone else's name. A buddy [got] put on the list and I used his name to get in backstage. I remember sweating bullets."

An awesome little tidbit I came across is that Jason Aldean and Florida Georgia Line are tight now, but they sure didn't start off on the right foot. Jason remembers before they met when he saw them backstage looking a little too comfortable. He didn't like it.

He says, "I saw them in the dressing room at the show, and I don't know who these guys are. So my first question was, 'Who are you and why are you in my room?'"

However, once he gave them a listen, Jason discovered that he, Tyler and Brian had quite a bit in common: Jason said, "Once I started listening to their music, it reminded me of a lot of my stuff, some of the early stuff, where it was country but also had this hard rock edge to it... I think, for me, it was this respect for what they were doing and what they were bringing to the country music genre."

This is awesome, talked about being humbled, Old Dominion recently posted a clip of them performing at Nashville's Wildhorse Saloon back in 2010... and every single customer in the place was dancing. Unfortunately, there were only TWO customers in the place. Yes, they were a couple, but at least they were having fun!

Music City Minute: Chris Stapleton, Brett Young, Keith Urban

People are saying Chris Stapleton’s wife Morgane won the Internet this week. I know it's only Wednesday, but check this out.

It started when Kendall Jenner posted some clips of Chris's L.A. concert on her Instagram Story. She captioned one with "I love you Chris Stapleton" . . . and another with "Call me."

Instead of getting jealous or firing back, Morgane did exactly what you're supposed to do. She went one better.

She took her own screenshots from Kendall's Instagram Story and wrote, "When @Kendall-Jenner loves your husband and wants him to call her, but you also have strong love for said Kar-Jenner."

Obviously, Morgane is secure in her marriage. She and Chris celebrated their 10-year wedding anniversary last October, and they have four kids together.

Brett Young’s fiancé has been wedding planning like crazy, and it’s been going on for a while now so I’m just excited for the big day and I can’t wait to see pictures of the dress and how they decorate everything. Brett shared a funny story about how she’s devoting a lot of time to it, he said, “She found a quote the other day which is so true, it cracked me up, it said, ‘Do you ever wonder what you did with all of your free time before you were planning a wedding?’ because I feel like she’s doing a 40 hour a week job working on this thing.”

Keith Urban fans he just released the next single from his “Graffiti U” album it’s called “Never Comin’ Down” and Keith says, “"There was just such a great thing happening up there. I had this drum beat that I had carried around for a bit, and I presented that, and we started building on that. It really started with a tribal rhythmic feel."

Music City Minute: Chris Stapleton, Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood

Chris Stapleton paid tribute to Aretha Franklin at his concert in Los Angeles on Saturday. He called her "the greatest singer that ever lived" . . . and performed "Do Right Woman, Do Right Man".

You know I love any news that has to do with weddings! Well, Kelly Clarkson made a couple's wedding day even more special, by making a surprise appearance to sing her song "Piece by Piece" for their first dance.

The bride, and her groom were blindsided and overwhelmed by emotion when Kelly and a live band were revealed from behind a curtain as they took the floor to dance together as husband and wife. Neither knew to expect the her, and Kelly seemed super excited to be a gift for them.

The video is so sweet and full of emotion!

Carrie Underwood has revealed the names of the 13 songs on her upcoming “Cry Pretty” album, sharing 11 new titles in addition to the two tracks fans are already familiar with.

Cry Pretty will be released on Sept. 14, featuring her single "Cry Pretty" and "The Champion," a duet with rapper Ludacris. It's her sixth studio album and first since Storyteller in 2015. It's also her first album on UMG Nashville.

Carrie Underwood's Cry Pretty Track Listing:

1. “Cry Pretty”

2. “Ghosts on the Stereo”3. “Low”4. “Backsliding”5. “That Song That We Used to Make Love To”6. “The Bullet”7. “Southbound”8. “Drinking Alone”9. “Spinning Bottles”10. “Love Wins”11. “End Up With You”12. “Kingdom”13. “The Champion” (Feat. Ludacris)

Music City Minute: Dierks Bentley, Miranda Lambert, Scotty McCreery

It’s the first day of school for a lot of students in SA and Dierks Bentley knows exactly what it’s like because he has a 4 year old, 7 year old, and 9 year old. He says, “Back to school for kids is kind of like back to school for me, it’s like time for me to get back in gear too, I usually work out really early from 5-5:50 and so I get up at 4:45 when school is back in session, so I come back in the house with peak energy ready to rock for them”.

And like any normal parent he struggles with getting the kids out the door on time saying, “From about 6 to 6:15 or 6:20 if you’re at 6:25 you’re going to hit traffic so you have to be right there that last like 10 minutes is like ‘guys if we don’t get out the door right now we’re going to be stuck’ so there’s a very fine window for making it to school on time.”

We’ll have more tickets to see Dierks Bentley with LANCO and Brothers Osbourne September 20th at the Austin 360 Amphitheater all week at 11:10!

Miranda Lambert’s boyfriend, Turnpike Troubadours frontman Evan Felker, has finalized his divorce from his wife, Staci Felker, according to a new report.

A source says that the couple's marriage officially ended earlier this week, saying, “Staci feels free and relieved" now that the situation is resolved. And Miranda is happy that Evan is now “all hers”.

Scotty McCreery fans he will hit the road this fall and winter for his headlining Seasons Change Tour. It’s a 13 day tour named after his 2018 album, and will kick off November 29th in Dallas and will stop in San Antonio November 30th at the Aztec Theatre. Tickets go on sale August 24th 10 a.m.!

Music City Minute: Luke Combs, Reba McEntire, Miranda Lambert

This might actually be one of my most favorite things of all time! Ya’ll known I’m a huge Luke Combs fan, well this made me love him even more. He did an interview recently with ABC News and he confessed he was a fan of boy bands back in the 90’s! Then he went on to sing a piece of *NSYNC’s “God Must’ve Spent A Little More Time On You” and I lost it, it’s amazing.

The death of Aretha Franklin resonated through the country community yesterday. Tons of artists went on social media to pay tribute and share stories of how she affected their lives.

Reba McEntire talked about finding inspiration. She Tweeted, "I've had so many influences in my life, and one is the Queen of Soul. Rest in peace, Aretha." She included a link to her 1988 CMA Awards performance of "Respect"

Willie Nelson hit up Twitter to say: "Whether it was gospel, blues, jazz, R&B, pop, or civil rights, Aretha [could] turn any song into a hymn. She'll be greatly missed here on earth, but that band in heaven just got our Angel. Rest in peace."

Miranda Lambert kept it simple, writing, "The greatest of all time."

Faith Hill included a photo, and wrote: "The choir of angels now have the greatest voice of all time to lead, praise, and join in to sing before Jesus. I wanted to share this photo because it shows just how soulful Aretha was without uttering a word. To say I was humbled to be in her presence would be an understatement."

And Margo Price may have said it best with this: "Legends never die."
