5 Places To Find The Perfect Mother’s Day Gift!

Blue Q – I had never heard of this site before but I went and checked it out it has AWESOME little gifts and knick knacks for Mom like dish towels, bags, & socks! You might even find something for yourself on there.

Etsy – is always a go to for any holiday. They always have amazing personalized gifts that seem special, and not just like you threw it together last minute, and a lot of the little shops on there can do priority shipping. One Mother’s Day I got a recipe my Grandmother wrote printed on a dish towel for my Mom.

Another online option is Mark & Graham; I had never heard of them but apparently they’re a sister company to William & Sonoma so I knew it had to be good! They have all sorts of accessories you can get stamped or sewn with Moms initials but this isn’t a basic monogrammed site, the things you can buy look high quality and I actually got my Mom something from there and I can’t wait to give it to her!

Now if you’re more of a store shopper and love picking out things that just speak to you.

Francesca’s – is always great for gifts, they usually set up a big table full of items for that specific holiday. You can always find something! There’s one at The Quarry & La Cantera.

Anthropologie – it’s a little fancier but you can always find amazing smelling candles there, and they have really pretty things for your kitchen whether you’re looking for dishes, glasses, or accessories.

Music City Minute: Kane Brown, Lauren Alaina, CMT Awards, John Rich, Sugarland

You know how pretty much all of our favorite country artists have bars in downtown Nashville - Dierks Bentley, Florida Georgia Line, Alan Jackson and Blake Shelton? Well now John Rich has one too! His new Redneck Riviera bar is getting ready to open in Nashville, John Rich is glad to able to join the growing list of country stars with downtown spots:

John Rich: "I think it's cool that all the country artists are doing that because Lower Broadway is where we all hung out anyway when we all came to town. So, to be able to go back and have honky tonks down there with kinda our fingerprints on it is gonna be a lot of fun." This Saturday, he will hold a special kickoff event at Redneck Riviera Nashville to raise money for Folds of Honor, an organization dedicated to providing educational scholarships to spouses and children of America's fallen and disabled service-members.

The "2018 CMT Music Awards" nominees were announced yesterday. Carrie Underwood, Florida Georgia Line, and Jason Aldean lead the pack with four nominations each.

Little Big Town, Chris Stapleton, Lauren Alaina, and Thomas Rhett are right behind with three nominations apiece. This is a fan-voted awards show so you have until midnight June 4th cast your vote. You can vote more than once.

The show airs June 6th, and Little Big Town are the hosts.

Speaking of the CMT Music Awards Kane Brown and Lauren Alaina have a decent chance of walking away with one next month for their "What Ifs" video.

But some of the best acting Kane ever did was during the ACM Awards when he and Lauren had to pretend to be romantic while performing "What Ifs"

Even though they've been friends since middle school the producers wanted them to "sell" the love song. They were coached to slowly walk towards each other until they ended up face-to-face.

Kane said, "That was the first thing they told us. They were like, 'you're over here, and you're over there… and THIS is how you end.' We were like, what? It was super awkward.

"Lauren was like, 'Might as well go ahead and grab his butt too.'"

Mother's Day is Sunday, so it's probably no coincidence that Sugarland has released the lyric video to their new song "Mother". It's one of the tracks from their album "Bigger", which is out June 8th.

Music City Minute: Carrie Underwood, Jason Aldean, Miranda Lambert, Luke Bryan, Brantley Gilbert

Carrie Underwood is making a return to her old stomping grounds, American Idol, on Sunday! She'll serve as a guest mentor to the show's remaining contestants. The top five contestants will perform songs from Carrie’s songbook on next week's live show, after a special mentoring session with her during a surprise trip to Nashville. Carrie will also be performing her new single, "Cry Pretty," on the show. The new video for "Cry Pretty" can be seen here:

Jason Aldean has revealed that "Drowns the Whiskey" featuring Miranda Lambert will be his next single. This news come as Jason continues to hold the top spot for a second straight week "You Make It Easy," his 20th career No. 1.Jason Aldean says he knew "Drowns the Whiskey" was something pretty special when he first heard the finished product with Miranda's vocals:Jason Aldean: "It was awesome, [it] turned out great just like I thought it would. And she's such a great singer, such a great harmony singer, too, that she knocked it out [of the park]. It was great and one of the highlights of this record." A behind-the-scenes look into the recording process for "Drowns the Whiskey" can be seen here in official lyric video:

Luke Bryan was on "Kimmel" last night, and said fellow judge on American Idol Lionel Richie is always telling amazing stoires, and Luke even admitted that he used to get busy to Lionel’s music.

Country stars tend to be night owls because that's when they have to perform. That's okay if you're on your own, but it's not the perfect schedule if you're raising kids. But it CAN work if the kid doesn't sleep through the night yet.

Brantley Gilbert and his wife Amber have a pretty good system going with their five-month-old son Barrett.

He says, "In the morning I'm not present. I'm asleep, but I got the late night shift. So I put him down, and then I've got the monitor until about 3:00 or 4:00 AM.

"I go up and work… and then I come down and put the monitor on her side of the bed and get me some sleep."

Even though Amber has read a lot of baby books, they still ask the doctor a bunch of questions. He says, "Every time you go in, 'Are we doing this right? Are we doing this wrong?' The whole thing's a curve ball. A moving target. You're always learning."

Music City Minute: Luke Combs, Lady Antebellum, American Idol

Luke Combs has given fans a behind the scenes glimpse into recording "Beautiful Crazy," one of the five new tracks on his upcoming deluxe debut album, This One's for You Too. It was filmed at Nashville's Blackbird Studio, the video shows Luke and his band recording the track as the producer sits at the soundboard working his magic. "Beautiful Crazy" may be a new track on Luke’s debut record, but the song has already been a fan favorite at his shows for years.

This One's for You Too will hit store shelves on June 1.

Lady Antebellum messed up the national anthem before Game 5 between the Predators and Jets on Saturday night in Nashville. Charles Kelley started singing the wrong verse and Hillary Scott saved him.

American Idol was on last night and America voted the Top 7 down to the Top 5. Before two of the contestants went home they found out all of the Top 7 will go out on tour this summer. Some highlights from last night’s performances were Maddie Pope singing Sheryl Crow’s “If It Makes You Happy”:

And my favorite singer on the show Gabby Barrett absolutely killed it when she sang “How Come U Don’t Call Me Anymore” by Prince:

And spoiler alert the Top 7 went down to 5 – going on to next week’s show will be Cade Foehner, Caleb Lee Hutchinson, Maddie Poppe, Michael J. Woodard, and my fave Gabby Barrett! Sadly my other favorite Catie Turner and Jurnee aren’t moving forward to next week but they will be on the summer tour so they didn’t seem to upset.

Speaking of American Idol tonight on TV Luke Bryan will be on Jimmy Kimmel Live!

Music City Minute: Blake Shelton & Gwen Stefani, Brett Young, Dan + Shay

Mother’s Day is coming up on the 13th and Blake Shelton is already getting asked about his Mother's Day plans for Gwen Stefani! Last year, Blake said he was going to make Gwen pancakes for the special day, and he said it didn’t just make your average pancakes, he spelled out Mom and made a #1 with pancake batter but I kind of thing he was joking.

This year Blake says year he might step his game up and make waffles, but he didn’t sound totally serious about that either. He joked, "It is going to be a huge waffle, because you can only make the squares, so it has to be like Legos. I have to make a crap load of waffles."

Usually if you're a singer and you're getting married, people expect you to get up there and do a song right? The pressure's even stronger if it's coming from the person you're marrying. That's what Brett Young is dealing with right now.

The wedding's later this year, and his longtime girlfriend Taylor Mills has been throwing hints. He talked about it in an interview, saying, "I recently got the feeling that she wants me to do at least one song.

"I think it will be really cheesy to do one of mine. So I'm trying to figure out what the cool, subtle thing to do is so that she gets the moment she's looking for. And I don't feel like I totally sold out on my wedding day."

There's a similar thing happening with Brett's father. He's a pastor, but he doesn't want to officiate. Brett said, "He doesn't want to do the wedding. He wants to be AT his son's wedding."

CMT Hot 20 Countdown’s Young interview airs on Saturday and Sunday May 5-6 at 8 a.m.

After hinting at a big surprise all week, Dan + Shay finally ended the suspense with the release of a brand new song called "All To Myself." The song was originally scheduled to drop today, but the overwhelming response from fans prompted them to release it yesterday. The song will be on their upcoming third album.

Music City Minute: FGL, Tyler Farr, Maren Morris, Eric Church, Military Appreciation Month

A big Happy Birthday to Eric Church he turns 41 today!

A little fun fact about Tyler Hubbard from Florida Georgia Line, he’s 31, which is still pretty young. But not so young that he can pound down the whiskey without paying for it the next day. He says, "I'm drinking less. I don't know what's happening.

He says, "I feel like I'm not a partier anymore. In our 20s, we could drink half a bottle of whiskey and wake up fine, but nowadays it doesn't work like that anymore. I like to try and feel good."

The subject came up because he and Brian Kelley have teamed up with the USO to launch a “Patriot Pack” version of their Old Camp Whiskey. They released a limited edition bottle of their Old Camp Whiskey for Military Appreciation Month, which will help support military families in partnership with the USO.

Speaking of Military Appreciaton Month some of our favorite country artists will perform at the Grand Ole Opry for a Salute the Troops Special. Trace Adkins, Craig Morgan, Kellie Pickler, and Darius Rucker are some of the artists performing May 22nd. There will be two shows. Craig says, "My fellow artists and I are very excited to shake as many family members' hands as we can, say thank you, and offer some of our songs in salute."

Tickets for both shows are on sale now.

A big concert announcement – Tyler Farr will be at Cowboys July 7th tickets go on sale tomorrow at 10am! Here’s his latest song “Love By The Moon”

Maren Morris posted a clip of herself doing an unplugged version of "The Middle” and captioned it "Five Weeks Number One." So naturally she’s got to be proud! We’ll see her tomorrow night at Gruene Hall for a sold out show, and if you still need tickets we have a pair, plus meet & greets coming up at 8:25 today and tomorrow!

Music City Minute: Carrie Underwood, Blake Shelton, FGL, *NSYNC, & Sugarland

One person you don’t want to mess with when it comes to hockey is Carrie Underwood. As we know, she’s married to Mike Fisher, who is currently in the middle of a playoff series with his team the Nashville Predators, against the Winnipeg Jets.

Well. it looks like Carrie Underwood has been given a challenge by pro wrestler Chris Jericho. It turns out Chris’s Dad was a pro NHL player and he’s a super fan of the Winnipeg Jets and recently posted a challenge to Carrie on Instagram that says, “A $10,000 bet as to which team would win the second-round Stanley Cup Playoff series.”

Chris went on to say, “If she’s a proud Nashville Predators fan, half as much as she claims to be, she’ll have no problem doing a friendly wager,” even mentioning the money could go to charity, which sounds friendly right!? Well, then he went on to say Carrie is “married to a fourth line bench warmer” – surely this is all in the spirit of good old-fashioned rivalry fun, but maybe he crossed the line? We’ll keep you posted.

Carrie hasn’t responded yet.

The drama continues! Blake Shelton sent the rumor mill spinning last week when he posted a tweet saying, "Been taking the high road for a long time...I almost gave up. But I can finally see something on the horizon up there!! Wait!! Could it be?! Yep!! It's karma!!"

Of course this lead to a lot of people self-interpreting Blake's tweet thinking it was in response to rumors that Miranda is dating Turnpike Troubadours lead singer Evan Felker, who reportedly filed for divorce from his wife in February. But, Blake says ya’ll ain’t even close:Blake Shelton: "If it was meant for people to know exactly what it meant, it wouldn't have been so cryptic. Why would I say that? But I can tell you it's been, actually, very entertaining to watch the world run with it and assume what they think it's about."

Florida Georgia Line has been working hard on their fourth album and Tyler says each album has a certain evolution: (Tyler Hubbard) "I think it's pretty simple. I think with every album we do we just try to evolve as our life has, try to write the best songs that we possibly can and find the best songs that we possibly can between the last album and the current album, and just record the best songs that we can find."

And in other news, by the way this totally classifies as country news because Justin Timberlake is from Tennessee. *NSYNC along with Justin Timberlake were on the “Ellen” show yesterday and played a heated game of “Never Have I Ever”. Justin admitted that he once hooked up with a Spice Girl! He didn't say which one, but in a 2004 interview, Emma Bunton who was “Baby Spice” pretty much admitted it was her.

And tonight make sure you watch Jimmy Kimmel Live, Sugarland will be on the show!

Music City Minute: Kenny Chesney, Miranda Lambert, Thomas Rhett, Jake Owen, Shania Twain

Kenny Chesney fans time to get excited! Yesterday Kenny announced his new album will be called Songs for the Saints and we can get it July 27. Kenny says the album will be reflective of a lot of the things he's been through since the release of his last record in 2016, with much of its inspiration coming from Hurricane Irma and the destruction it caused throughout the Caribbean islands last year, including damage to his own home on the U.S. Virgin Island of St. John. Kenny says the album is about the troubles people have in their lives and the courage and resilience they show in the wake of adversity.

Yesterday we told you about the drama going on between Miranda Lambert and her new boyfriend and Turnpike Troubadors singer Evan Felker. Evan’s ex-wife has been posting on social media and some are saying it’s making Miranda look like a homewrecker. Well now the gossip that’s going around is that Miranda’s boyfriend Evan "full-on ghosted" his wife when the “Livin' Like Hippies” Tour ended, they were an opening act on the tour.

A source said he skipped his flight back home to Oklahoma, and sent an email to his wife saying, "I'm not coming home this week." Then the ghosting started. The source is also saying there was no idea that he was planning to divorce his wife before he met Miranda.

Thomas Rhett learned the hard way that even artists who are a part of the tour need to have a backstage pass. One night he went into the crowd to watch the opening act. Well, while he was roaming around they changed security guards.

When he returned the guards didn't know who he was and needed to see his pass. He said, "I'm trying to point at the poster in the hallway like, 'hey, that's like my face and I have to get back there because I'm about to start.'

"And I literally didn't get back there until like one minute before my show went on. So it really taught me to keep up with a laminate and the pass."

Shania Twain and Jake Owen are co-hosting a singing competition called "Real Country". It'll tape this summer in Nashville and debut in the fall on the USA Network. Shania and Jake will hand-select artists to perform in showcases… and the best ones from each showcase will perform in a grand finale.

Music City Minute: Carrie Underwood, Dierks Bentley, Miranda Lambert, American Idol

Carrie Underwood has proven she is the Nashville Predators hockey team's good luck charm, last night she sang the National Anthem at the Pred's playoff home game against the Jets and the team won in overtime 5-4!

The Predators and the Winnipeg Jets started their second-round series on Friday, and Dierks Bentley and fellow Grand Ole Opry member Del McCoury sang the National Anthem.

Miranda Lambert is worried that people are labeling her a "homewrecker" for dating Turnpike Troubadours singer Evan Felker… because he's still married. She feels it's not fair.

A source said, "The way Miranda tells it, things were already over when they started hooking up, and, you can't help who you fall in love with."

Miranda thinks some of the bad press is being stirred-up by Evan's ex, who's taken her case to social media. The source said, "She thinks it's unfortunate that Staci's making a public show out of this and implying she's a homewrecker."

The ex posted a selfie last week that she captioned, "PSA: If Staci Felker can make it through this week, so can you."

And a friend of Staci's posted a clip of them at a bar singing along to "Before He Cheats". The friend does the lyric, "Maybe next time he'll think before he cheats." Staci adds, "I hope he does." It's captioned, "Cheaters never prosper."

Last night was a big night for American Idol – the top 10 performed and it was Disney themed! Katy Perry dressed up as Snow White and Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie both had pins with the name of one of the Seven Dwarfs on them. Luke’s button said “Dopey” and Loinel’s said “Happy”.

It seemed like everyone did great last night on the show but two big favorites were Gabby Barrett, an 18-year-old who is known for leaning towards country and has a love of Carrie Underwood chose to sing a song from Pocahonatas “Colors of the Wind”.

Another country favorite is 19-year-old Caleb Lee Hutchinson, who has actually lost 70 pounds since auditioning! He sang “You’ve Got a Friend in Me” from the iconic movie Toy Story

Unfortunately, three contestants went home last night Ada Vox, Dennis Lorenzo, and Michelle Sussett.
