The Spanish-language song "Despacito," by Luis Fonsi and featuring Daddy Yankee, is now the most-watched video on YouTube, Time magazine reported.
Last month, the video won the title as the most-streamed song of all time, with more than 4.6 billion streams on combined platforms, Time reported. On Friday, "Despacito" beat out Wiz Khalifa and Charlie Puth's “Fast and Furious” anthem "See You Again" for the top spot with nearly 3 billion views. "See You Again" had taken over from the longtime favorite "Gangnam Style" last month.
In a video message sent to Time from Puerto Rico, Daddy Yankee honored the record-breaking success of the song.
"Thank you, YouTube for 'Despacito's success. I recognize the influence that the platform has," he said. "The music industry has changed. The rules of music have changed. And YouTube has a big responsibility, and I recognize it. Breaking a record is overwhelming, and I'm happy to keep inspiring others to do the same," he said.
The song debuted on YouTube in January 2017. It is currently in its 12th straight week atop Billboard magazine’s Hot 100 chart.
It’s not a mirage. Putting the Muppets into videos is not sabotage.
Supercuts of the beloved “Sesame Street” Muppets are well-established on the internet, but a remake of the Beastie Boys’ 1994 song “Sabotage” featuring the characters is going viral, Mashable reported.
YouTuber isthishowyougoviral created the video, using old footage from the children’s television show.
The mashup is entertaining and revives two old favorites.

Sometimes new babies and pets don't mix, but one pug is defying the odds in his family.
A video uploaded by David Freiheit, who goes by Viva Frei on YouTube and across social media, shows his pug Baboo, who is blind, snoozing a way in a baby seat.
The pup was comfy and cozy in the seat.
"It's, like, perfect. It's the perfect size," Freiheit's wife said.
"You're the cutest thing," Freiheit tells the pup.
The video captures little shots of the dog napping away and the end shows him making a few attempts to get out.
Eventually, Babbo is successful.
"Given the proximity of his butt to the pillow, we will have to wash this before putting the baby back into it," Freiheit said in the video description.

Videos of babies hearing for the first time never get old, and a video of a baby in Australia adds to the adorable list.
The West Australian reported that mom Taryn Blair shared a video of her son, 3-month-old Jordan Blair, hearing for the first time.
Blair told The West Australian hearing loss runs in her side of the family, so she was not surprised when Jordan failed hearing tests.
“He had the newborn hearing screening and failed the first assessment. He had another one a couple of days later and failed again,” she said. "He wouldn’t react to our dog barking or making noises. We have a 2-year-old who flinches or cries when he hears those loud noises, so we knew something wasn’t right."
After over 20 appointments, the one captured on video by Blair and her husband, Damien Blair, was a welcome change.
In the video, posted by Blair Wednesday on Facebook, baby Jordan coos and giggles as he hears a rattle for the first time.
Jordan's hearing aid day! (3 months old) He loved his rattle sounds. Put a smile on mummy and daddy's face!Posted by Taryn Blair on Wednesday, July 20, 2016
“We went in there not knowing what to expect," Blair said. "When we had that reaction, we were so happy."
Another video, posted by Blair Thursday, shows the baby reacting to hearing his mother's voice for the first time, and he cheerfully squeals.
Another gorgeous video of Jordan's first time hearing with his hearing aids (3 months old)Posted by Taryn Blair on Thursday, July 21, 2016
Blair said that a day after her son got his hearing aids, which she said were set at moderate to severe, he's been resting easier.
“Normally, he’s hard to put down, I don’t know if it had anything to do with him not being able to see or hear us. But now, when I put him down in the bouncer or in bed, he’s fine and looking around and making noises," she said.
Rocco, an old English sheepdog, can't seem to get into a chair.
The 1-year-old pup's owner recorded video of him trying to jump into a recliner, but he couldn't get it right.
At first, the Facebook video showed Rocco hanging on the chair with his hind legs hanging over the arm of the chair, trying to lift them up into the recliner.
But it doesn't work. Rocco tries one leg at first, then the other. But the sheepdog can't get on the chair, no matter how hard he tries.

A Texas man's video of himself flying off the side of a water slide and falling down a rocky cliff has gone viral on Facebook, garnering 177,000 views.
David Salmon posted the explicit slow-motion video on his Facebook page, with the caption: "Too dang old to be going down water slides. Fell off this one that is over a rocky cliff. First time in an ambulance. I'm currently in the hospital in Round Rock. Broke my arm (humerus) and fractured ribs. Multiple lacerations on my back, arms and side. Just found out I don't need surgery so that's good news! One more night in Austin, then I can go home to Dallas."
Salmon kept his sense of humor, and let his friends know that he was OK, with the hashtags #waterslide, #fail, #failvideo, #brokenarm and #notdead.
The video has been shared more than 900 times, and multiple people have posted dramatic new edits of the video in the comments section, including one person who put his water slide slip to the tune of "Ave Maria." It is unclear from the video where the water slide is located.
The video, containing strong language, can be watched here.
