San Antonio Gridiron, S.A. Mayor Ron Nirenberg Get Down To ‘Despacito’ For Scholarships

San Antonio Express-News Writer Michael Quintanilla collaborated with city council to put together a fun music video to the summer hit "Despacito"! The music video is a part of the 'Gridiron' show which is similar to the sketch comedy show, Saturday Night Live. According to their Facebook page, "proceeds from the San Antonio Gridiron are used for scholarships for college students pursuing degrees in journalism or communications."

“Gridiron shows traditionally are produced by journalist as local fundraisers, combining original skits and song parodies in a live theatrical production that spoofs newsmakers as well as the journalist who cover them,” says the Facebook page.

The AWESOME music video shows San Antonio City Council including Mayor Nirenberg moving to the popular Luis Fonsi song. Huge shout-out to Quintanilla, San Antonio Gridiron, and everyone else who put this video together; it’s another way to show how much fun we have in the Alamo City! Check it out!

For your viewing pleasure, San Antonio: Our Mayor and City Council dancing to Despacito!! This video makes my heart so happy. It's great to see our city leaders having fun, all for the good cause of raising funds for scholarships for the next generation of Latino journalists. Thank you for inviting me to be part of this, Michael Quintanilla. I kid you not that this is one of the coolest projects I have ever been part of. I love our city and feel so lucky! Gracias.
