Music City Minute: Zac Brown Band, Brett Young, Blake Shelton, Luke Bryan, Thomas Rhett

Last night was an amazing game the NCAA National Championship where Alabama beat Georgia in overtime 26 to 23! Hopefully you saw the beginning of the game where the Zac Brown Band sang an amazing rendition of the National Anthem featuring the Atlanta Gospel Choir, and you know anything with a choir gives you goosebumps!

It’s hard to believe Brett Young wasn’t a house hold name just about a year ago. His most recent single "Like I Loved You" just went No. 1 and it’s been there the past three weeks! The song marks his third consecutive No. 1 hit and gives him a boost going into 2018. Brett says, "This was such awesome news to start the New Year. I'm genuinely blown away and so thankful to my fans and Country radio for their continued support of my music."

Blake Shelton and Luke Bryan may have once teamed up as co-hosts on the ACM Awards, but the two singers will now find themselves going toe-to-toe on primetime television. That's because ABC just announced that their reboot of American Idol, featuring Luke as a judge, will be in the same time slot as NBC's music competition The Voice starring Blake. Dun dun dun!!! While American Idol's new season launches in March with shows on Sundays and Mondays, the Monday episodes will directly compete with The Voice for viewers. Now THIS is going to be interesting.

American Idol premieres its new season with two shows on Sunday, March 11 and Monday, March 12 at 7 PM. While Season 14 of The Voice launches on Monday, February 26 at 7 PM.

Thomas Rhett says his song “Marry Me” imagines what might have happened if he and his wife Lauren hadn't gotten together. He remembers years ago when they were each dating other people, until the day he took a chance and told her how he really felt. Fortunately, she felt the same.

Thomas says, "It's a make-believe story about me being invited to her wedding, and never getting the chance to tell her how I felt about her. I thought that was an interesting way to write a sad song, because it could have been my life very easily."
