I recently participated in a grocery challenge using the Favado App to save money at the grocery store. The challenge went like this:
I partnered up with Jill Parkin, and we had 30 minutes to plan out our shopping trip while using the Favado App. We browsed the sales, planned, printed our coupons and then hit the store. With Thanksgiving right around the corner, we decided to challenge ourselves to see if we could plan a Thanksgiving meal for 6-8 people for under $100.
Did we succeed? Oh yeah! And we saved 37% on our bill, and only spent a total of $97 on everything pictured.
Here's what we did:
Our $97 bought us turkey, stuffing, fresh fruits and vegetables, ingredients for pumpkin pie, cranberry sauce, salad, cornbread, green bean casserole, baking ingredients, potatoes, cherry pie, biscuits and more (as seen pictured above)!
So how can you do what we did?
- Download the Favado App to your iPhone or Android phone.
- Browse the sales and add items to your shopping list.
- Email your shopping list to yourself.
- Print the coupons that get emailed to you on your list.
- Head to the store and shop!
- Look for mark-downs while in the store.
The thing I really enjoyed about this trip was that we didn't spend a whole lot of time planning our trip, AND we were in and out of the store in under an hour. An app that saves me time and money simply rocks!
Have you tried the Favado App yet to save money at the grocery store? What do you think about it?
