The Briscoe Western Art Museum presents its 12th annual Night of Artists Art Sale and Exhibition featuring 65 of the countrys top Western artists to showcase over 200 of their best work to patrons and visitors on the picturesque San Antonio River Walk. The public will get its first glimpse of the exhibition during the Night of Artists on Saturday, March 23 in the new Jack Guenther Pavilion adjacent to the historic Museum building. Nationally respected contemporary painters and sculptors include John Coleman, T. D. Kelsey, Veryl Goodnight, Logan Maxwell Hagege, Doug Hyde, Tim Solliday, Kent Ullberg and Xiang Zhang. The range of subjects will reflect the vastness of the great American West from dreamy landscape vistas, to rugged frontier cowboys, historic missions, and detailed Native American subjects. The event includes the presentation of the Briscoe Legacy Award presented to an artist whose body of work has left a lasting impact upon the Western art world. This years recipient is noted Cowboy Artists of America member, Bill Owen. Previous winners include Martin Grelle, Howard Terpning, Clark Hulings, G. Harvey, Kent Ullberg and Ken Carlson. Awards also include Artists Choice, Committees Choice and Patrons Choice. Night of Artists marks the largest fundraiser for the Museum with proceeds going to support the institution.
