HISPA would like to invite San Antonio professionals to join the HISPA 2013 Youth Conference and the HISPA Role Model Reception on Friday March 1st at the UTSA Campus. ABOUT THE HISPA 2013 YOUTH CONFERENCE (7:00 am - 2:30 pm) The Annual Youth Conference provides a group of 8th grade students with a unique experience to visit an University Campus and attend hands-on workshops designed by participating  professional organizations, University staff, and corporations.  Throughout the one-day conference, HISPA highlights professionals and careers in the STEM fields.  In addition, to hosting a panel of University students.The theme for the HISPA Youth Conference is “Take Action, Achieve your Dreams.”  Expected attendance at this year’s conference is 250 students from public middle schools in San Antonio. You are invited to join us and support all operational activities throughout the one-day conference. Each volunteer will have  a task assigned for the day including serving as an active role model for the students.  In addition, volunteer tasks include welcoming the students, serving as leader or assistant during a workshop, and supporting any special needs that students might have throughout the day.
