The Tuesday Musical Club Artist Series, which has offered four concerts a year showcasing world-class artists since 1923, continues its 90th season on Tuesday, January 22, 2013 at 2 p.m. with pianist Joyce Yang at Laurel Heights United Methodist Church, 227 W. Woodlawn Avenue. Critically acclaimed as the most gifted young pianist of her generation with a million-volt stage presence, Yang captivates audiences around the globe with her stunning virtuosity combined with heartfelt lyricism and interpretive sensitivity. Just 25, she has established herself as one of the leading artists of her generation through her innovative solo recitals and notable collaborations with the worlds top orchestras. Guests should enter the church on the side facing Woodlawn. Handicapped seating is available; there is free parking in the church lot. Concerts last from 90 minutes to two hours. Interchangeable concert tickets: two tickets for $30, or $20 for single tickets. Students are free at all concerts with proper ID. Tickets will be available for purchase on the clubs website and at the door. Seating is first come-first served. Doors and ticket sales open approximately one hour before each concert.
