Alamo Dreams BellyDance Contest
Saturday February 2 @ 8:00 PM $100 Cash prize to First Place winner! $50 Cash prize to Audience Choice winner! Both winners may be featured at the following Alamo Dreams Belly Dance Contest.(Compete as often as you like to defend your title)!
From the last event, 1st place winner was Lacey Williams Audience Choice was Kendra Hickman Hosted every other month by Kerri Hernandez and Tazas Coffee in San Antonio. Judges: Lacey Williams & Stacey Lizette!!!Want to judge for the next event? Must have at least 10 years of dance experience, or have been a judge in other contests and more. Contest Rules Solos only. Props may be used, however space is very limited. All varieties of belly dance is accepted (Cabaret, Tribal etc.) and must be family friendly Contestants can be students to professional (however no one who uses belly dance as their main source of income can compete to be fair). Music must be between 3-6 minute sent to me via email to divasofegypt@yahoo.com
Must be 18 years of age or older to participate. Contestants authorize use of photos and video for future use and event promotions. Must be on time and stay throughout the end of the show. Cover up required while not dancing. Minimum of 7 dancers competing up to 15 max. Judging Criteria Technique. How well does the dancer seem to know this dance? Execution of movements in good form. Flow - How well does the dancer perform to their music? Are appropriate changes made as the music changes too? Do they appear to know different rhythms? Costuming - Is the costume appropriate for what they are performing as well as attention to hair/make up? Skill level - How advanced are the dancers skills? This is so varied as everyone different abilities. Any interesting things like back bends, splits, double veil and more! Audience engagement – How well does the dancer engage the audience and how well the does the audience appreciate the dancer? All judging is on a scale of 1-5 with 5 being the highest possible score and 1 being the lowest.
