The Bud Light RiverFest Battle of the Bands is a NEW River Walk event that will take place on Saturday, January 12th. From 11am to 6pm, enjoy FREE Live Music on the Arneson Stage as local bands compete for the title of The 2013 Official Band of the San Antonio River Walk. Officially replacing the historic Mud Festival, RiverFest will showcase local talent in a National Venue. Because the River Walk is no longer drained on a regular basis, we were looking for a replacement for our traditional Mud Festival. We wanted something exciting that would bring tourists and locals alike to the River Walk during a time when it is traditionally slow for business, explains Nancy Hunt, Executive Director of the Paseo del Rio Association. What could be more exciting than live music Bands will compete for the title of The Official Band of the River Walk and $1,000 cash. As The Official Band of the River Walk, they will be invited to perform at all Paseo del Rio River Walk events throughout 2013. The Battle of the Bands will be FREE to the public.
