Put your feet on the pavement and join the Junior League of San Antonio, Inc. on the road to building a better community during the Junior League of San Antonio “Resolve for a Better SA 5K” on Saturday, January 12. 2013. The race is open to the public and runners of all levels are welcome to participate. Resolve for a Better SA 5K is a fundraising event for the Junior League of San Antonio. San Antonio’s premier women’s volunteer organization, the Junior League of San Antonio allows women to work together to build a better community through leadership and community service. Through volunteer work and grants to partner organizations, the Junior League benefits women, children and families city-wide. The Junior League supports agencies and programs that work every day to meet the rising needs in our community, making it the non-profit that supports other non-profits to build a better San Antonio. The race starts at 8:00 a.m. at the Bright Shawl, the historic restaurant and event space owned by the Junior League of San Antonio, located near downtown San Antonio at 819 Augusta Street. The race route will primarily be on the Museum Reach portion of the San Antonio Riverwalk and will end back at the Bright Shawl. The top female, male and child race competitors will win awards and all registered competitors will receive a race t-shirt. Interested runners may register online until midnight, January 10, 2013. The registration fee is $25 until January 4. The fee for those registering January 5 through 11 is $30. Day-of-race registration is $35 and begins at 7:00 a.m. at the race start at the Junior League office. The registration fee for children 12 and under is $10. Registrations may be completed online through the Junior League website at www.jlsa.org or can be mailed with a check for the registration fee to the Junior League office at 723 Brooklyn Ave., San Antonio, TX, 78215.
