Barktoberfest 2012 will be held Sunday, October 28th at the Perrin-410 Animal Hospital from 12:00 noon to 4;00 pm. This community festival will be held at the hospital and in the hospital parking lot. Animal lovers, young and old, are invited. One need not have a pet to attend, but your leashed dog is also invited. There are a variety of free events offered on this afternoon occasion. Some of the terrific happenings include: • A Halloween costume contest for your dogs will be held at 2:00 pm---- Prizes will be awarded • 50% off of all vaccinations for cats and dogs will be offered during this event, while supplies last • Dog Obedience demonstrations • Free hot dogs, soft drinks, and ice cream • Live music will be provided by the Laxa Tones and the Slaughter Creek Blues • A raffle will be held with a variety of gifts basksets and veterinary services to be given away including dentals, baths, and nail trims to name a few • Pet adoptions of cats and dogs will be offered • Train a dog/Save a Warrior Veteran organization will be in attendance. These are military men, women and dogs who have returned from Afghanistan and are connecting. • The South Texas Blood and Tissue Bank mobile will be there for blood donations • Information and consultations are available on topics such as animal acupuncture, stem cell therapy, and other veterinary topics • Tours of the clinic, the surgical suites, and facilities will be conducted.
