2017 Fiesta Events


The 126th edition Fiesta San Antonio is just around the corner and it all begins on April 20th. The 11 day celebration takes over the city, with over 110 events ranging from music, food, parades, military and patriotic observances, sports, pets and much more. Fiesta is possible thanks to the help of more than 100 local nonprofit organizations that help celebrates the diverse heritages, culture and spirit of San Antonio residence. Here is a list of some of the great events you and your family can enjoy! “Viva Fiesta!”

FIESTA OYSTER BAKE

2017 is Fiesta oyster Bake’s 101st Anniversary! The event features more than 100,000 oysters served baked, raw and fried plus 70+ food and beverage booths that dish up savory favorites and quench every thirst. THE TEXAS CAVALIERS RIVER PARADE

10TH STREET RIVER FESTIVAL

The 19th Century mansion is located on 10th Street and B Avenue, and is a place for great fun, food, cold drinks and entertainment that exemplifies the cultural diversity of San Antonio. With live music being the focus, musical groups will entertain Fiesta revelers with the sounds of Tejano, Oldies, Blues, and Country Western. VFW Post 76 is the oldest functioning VFW in Texas and proceeds from this event support maintenance of the century old building, renovation projects, veteran programs, and scholarships for local high school students.

FIESTA FLAMBEAU® PARADE

The Fiesta Flambeau Parade Association, Inc. is the largest illuminated night parade in the nation. The parade is viewed by approximately 700,000 people in the streets of downtown San Antonio and another 1.5 million on television. The theme for this year is “City Lights and Celebrations.” It will be led by the University of Texas Longhorn Band followed by local and out of town bands, marching units, equestrian units and spectacular floats and other attractions to delight and create a night of spectacular illumination! www.fiestaflambeauparade.org

The ever-popular Canine Costume Contest starts at 8:15 a.m. and you must be registered to enter.
