Honey Boo Boo family squabbles online following show cancellation

More popular and trending stories

With the TLC show “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo” axed amid allegations that the show’s matriarch has been keeping time with a convicted child molester, members of the middle Georgia clan have taken to squabbling with each other about the situation online.

“Mama” June Shannon posted a video on her public Facebook page denying the reports  and saying her connection with the person in question is a thing of the past.

“I have not seen that person in 10 years and don’t want to see that person.”

And then TMZ posted recent photos showing them together.

For a minute it looked like Lee Thompson, the brother of June’s former beau and Alana “Honey Boo Boo” Thompson’s dad Mike “Sugar Bear” Thompson, was going to stay out of it. That didn’t last.

In a series of posts on his public Facebook page, Thompson, known as “Uncle Poodle” on the show, accused his brother’s former partner of cheating on Sugar Bear with the ex-con.

“Why not just be honest for a change?” he posted. “You may try to bash me or dig up old dirt but honestly none of it compares to how you have treated my brother and allowed a convicted child molester who molested your oldest daughter to be around your 14 and 9-year-olds.

“Then you tell me if I step foot on your property you’d call the police on me for trespassing after I told my brother EVERYTHING with photographic evidence …It’s not anyone else but you who (bleeped) up, then lied and had your 14-year-old lie as well. And now you can’t get out of that hole you dug, so don’t blame me for YOUR problems.”

June’s eldest daughter, 20-year-old Anna Marie Cardwell, told People magazine that registered sex offender Mark McDaniel “would try and touch me and all that stuff” when she was 8. He was June’s boyfriend at the time. Anna said she isn’t sure what to believe but told People “I would feel hurt” if the rumors are true.

One of June’s other daughters, 14-year-old Lauryn, known as “Pumpkin” on the show, has defended her mom in an all-caps Instagram post, among other public pronouncements:

“THIS HERE IS UNCLE POODLE AND HIS MAN. THEY ARE UPSET BC THE SHOW WAS CANCELLED AND THEY NO LONGER HAVE MONEY. THEY HAVE BEEN SELLING FALSE STORIES AND MAKING MONEY. HE TOLD ME EARLIER TODAY THAT HE HOPED MY MOM GOT CANCER AND DIED OF A SLOW PAINFUL DEATH. GET THIS HE IS 30 YEARS OLD TELLING A 14 YEAR OLD THIS. EVERY STORY THATS OUT RIGHT NOW HE HAS PUT OUT AND ITS ALL FALSE. HE JUST THINKS IT ALL FUN AND GAMES SELLING FAMILY OUT BUT KARMA IS A BITCH TRUST ME I KNOW HER PERSONALLY. SO IMMA SIT BACK AND LAUGH BC WHEN THE TRUTH COMES OUT YOUR (bleeped).”

Responded Poodle (who is only Alana’s uncle; Sugar Bear is Alana’s dad but June’s other daughters have different fathers):

“I guess the truth hurts I mean y’all two just tell the truth and stop lying but guess that’s what you two are good for.”

June accused Poodle of selling information to TMZ in an angry message that he posted on his Facebook page: “It’s Uncle Poodle selling all these stories cause his gravy train has ran out.”

She also again denied the allegations.

“My kids are my #1 priority,” she said. “This is my past … the truth will all come out.”

It seems clear that someone close to June took the photos that TMZ ran. The images include one of June and McDaniel in a hotel room, and one of them touring a home. But Poodle says it wasn’t him.

“June and Pumpkin are pissed because they was caught up in a lie,” he posted. “I never sold a story.”

On Tuesday morning, he posted a new message saying he is moving on. He’d removed all the back-and-forth and replaced it with this:

“Cleaned up my page a bit, venting over, new day, start fresh…after a shower! No more about June and them, talked to a really good friend and she was right, let it all go there’s nothing I can do about it. Just worry about me and mine and don’t worry about them. I love all them regardless of the situation, all I can hope for is right choices and to be frank we have all made bad ones this year. You live, you learn, just let go and relax. Hope everyone has a great day!”

Remember a few months ago when we started seeing those promotional videos for the UNI-CUB, a weird mobility device that appeared to be a cross of Segway and a stool?

Critics blasted the personal mobility device as just another thing to make Americans fatter and lazier.

Well, the music group OK Go may have just helped invent a market for the UNI-CUB with an amazing new music video released Monday.

Post by OK Go.

For their latest single, "I Won't Let You Down," the group, who brought you the unforgettable treadmill music video a few years ago, is back and blowing our minds again.

"I Won't Let You Down" features more than 2,000 performers, loads of colorful umbrellas and, of course, the stars ... by which we mean the UNI-CUBs. Honda, maker of the UNI-CUB, helped pay for the music video.

OK Go was on the "Today" show Monday morning to release the video. The group said the video was all one shot, however, parts had to be shot in sections becasue there "just aren't that many UNI-CUBs in existence."

A body found near a river in Washington state  is believed to be that of missing actress Misty Upham, according to police.

The actress is known her roles in “August: Osage County,” “Frozen River" and "Django Unchained."

The 32-year-old Native American actress was reported missing by her family Oct. 6, a day after telling police she was suicidal.

The family said Upham had moved to the Seattle area to help care for her father, who's recovering from a stroke. She had been staying at a relative's apartment on the Muckleshoot reservation.

Tracy Rector, friend of the victim and Upham family spokesperson, said relatives and members of the native community organized Thursday's search.

A search party of three, including one family member, was canvassing the forest when they found Upham's purse and ID. They searched a ravine near the White River, discovered a body and called 911.

An official identification of the body has not been made.

Phil Lesh, Bob Weir of Grateful Dead sing anthem

Phil Lesh and Bob Weir of the Grateful Dead joined San Francisco Giants third base coach and musician Tim Flannery to sing "The Star-Spangled Banner" before Game 3 of the NL Championship Series on Tuesday at AT&T Park.

After the Giants held on to beat St. Louis 5-4 in 10 innings, Flannery announced the trio are "now 3-0" when singing the anthem together. The third base coach is 4-1 overall, losing once when he sang with his brother on "Grateful Dead Night."

"We did this two years ago," Flannery said. "And they haven't been together. They're about ready to start a 50th anniversary Grateful Dead, so they kind of split their ways this last summer, and so this might have been the first time they've been together."

Flannery didn't need to sing or shout or say anything else to Brandon Crawford as he rounded third for the game-winning run on Gregor Blanco's 10th-inning bunt to go ahead 2-1 in the best-of-seven series.

In August, Weir canceled all of the tour dates he had planned through January.

The 66-year-old guitarist, one of the Grateful Dead's founders, said his tour with his current band, RatDog, wouldn't kick off as planned and announced on the band's Website that "circumstances have necessitated that all scheduled tour dates for Bob Weir & RatDog are being canceled." No other details were given.

The trio of Lesh, Weir and Flannery also performed the anthem before Game 2 of the 2012 NLCS against St. Louis.

"Yeah, we'll get him back out there tomorrow," Giants manager Bruce Bochy said with a smile of Flannery's singing.
